Keyless lock door entry anyone?

Anyone found a good keyless entry lock, so one does not have to carry the key/s to get back in>

Would love that but have no suggestions. Finding something that would work with these odd doors seems like it would be tough.

I've thought of this before. I would like to implement as well. There are kits on places like Amazon. It would take some Macgyvering to make it work.

Neat idea. After losing a set of keys for our 20FC and discovering that the old Bulldog keys were VERY hard to find blanks for, a keyless system would be nice.

Not having that; I would strongly suggest you get extra key blanks for your door and deadbolts and stow them safely away. Not easy to get...

I don’t understand why Airstream doesn’t do this. I would use it. I store my keys in my pickup which has the digital access code. One of the things I like about the F150.

I’ve got a residential-style lockbox with an extra set of keys hidden outside on our Airstream.

I never thought about this too much until I closed the Airstream door once, and it unexpectedly locked behind me. Fortunately I had the keys in my pocket.

Keyless lock door entry anyone?

Ditto. It’s been handy more than once, when I went to the storage yard and left my Airstream key ring many miles away. Our key box is bolted to a solid structural member in a concealed area.

Have you found anything yet? Got locked out for 7 hours yesterday and 3 different locksmith companies couldn't get me in. Had to buy a stainless steel bit and drill a hole through the lock to manually push up the handle. Now i need to replace the whole handle and would prefer to install a digital one.

It brings me to the announcements and sticky's page. I wonder what i am doing wrong!!

Update! I copied the link and put it into google and opened it in the browser and it worked. I must have an issue with my app.

I have a 2021 flying cloud so I am not 100% that that lock will work for me so I am going to call Bauer today. I will give y'all an update on what I find out.

Thank you!

Worked for me but I also went to the Bauer site. I sent Bauer an email asking about applicability to an Airstream, but old reviews on Amazon indicate some reliability problems with mechanical failures of the internal mechanism. Not to mention the need to change batteries. Doesn't seem ready for Prime Time.

Did you get any guidance from Bauer? Please share when you do. Thanks!

Yes, I heard from them. They told me that their lock is NOT a direct fit for Airstreams. They said they were sure there were some owners who had cut and modified the door, but Bauer had no information on that.

Why set yourself up for a fall?

KISS for all mechanical functions IMO.
