Congratulations. It is fun to see the classic old Airstream model names come back around. Flying Cloud, Globetrotter, Safari, and the like. I'm waiting for the new Trade Wind, Overlander, or Ambassador to come soon too.
My son has a 69 Globetrotter. I guarantee yours is a whole lot better trailer.

I see your point David
From my angle I find it a bit annoying but am getting used to it. Everytime we see a Globettotter thread pop up I get excited to see another vintage sibling to our (newest) 61 Globettotter. But noooo it's just someone with a new Globettotter.
I think for research and archival purposes it will just convelude things further.
I love the old names but now when someone says they have a GT it's not a given they have a vintage trailer.
If they had kept the names going the whole time it might have better. I would be glad to be an Airstream consultant and help them come up with cool new names.

Gary,
I know you are excited for final delivery. I got a call recently that ours is scheduled for completion 3/29. Probably 10-14 days after that when it will be ready for us to inspect. Hope your demo and PDI go well.

Jim,
From what I understand, if all goes well, the build should take about 5 days - once it enters the production process. I can say there are numerous QC checks along the way. I hope this catches everything I process before delivery. They seem to have a real focus on in-process inspection.
I hope your experience bears evidence of success.

That would be fantastic. It may be a bit early but I appreciate the offer.
The last three digits of the VIN is 678.
Let me know what you find.
Thanks!

Jim,
I did not see your VIN when i was there. Mine has been released and is ready to ship. I saw 660, 815, 719, 728, 745, 666, and 907 on the final line. Near you VIN. But not an actual match.
I will prob not venture back for awhile. I have been there over the past 2 weeks.
I hope it h=goes well!!

Gary,
I know you are excited that yours is finally completed for your delivery. FYI - the VIN was that of Hans as I have no idea what my VIN is at this time. I did have a follow up question for you though.
I read in another post there is no inverter outlet in the galley area and was surprised as that it the perfect area to use the inverter for a small coffee maker (550W) when boondocking. "Stormalong" told me he fished power from the TV power to the bottom of the wardrobe closet / under the floor to the back of the bottom pantry drawer and up to the galley counter. He then added a stainless outlet for a nice finishing touch.
My dealer if Airstream would not be able to add this for in during construction. As an alternative I was hoping they could at least just drop in a power line from the wardrobe closet across to the bottom panty drawer to save me some time with enough slack to connect to the TV power and fish up to the galley. I was told they don't make any changes in production.
I was just curious if you think your contact at the factory would be able to get someone to just drop in an extra line for me where I could just connect it myself to power after I take delivery. If not, I'm confident I can do the entire process myself later but it would definitely save some time for me.
Enjoy your GT and I definitely want to hear back from you once you hook up figure out tongue weight / etc especially since we have the same TV. Since our GT will probably be around 6,400 dry weight I'm thinking a 1,000 pound tongue weight distribution would be what I need for towing purposes.

We just picked up our Globetrotter last Friday in Colorado on a snowy day. We have the vin ending in 666 and while we don't fully appreciate that number haha, we are super excited to have it now! Looking forward to our first trip to Moab in 10 days!

Hello from another Airstreamer in Colorado. Looks like you not only stalked a Globetrotter, you actually bagged one! Good for you. I hope you didn't see any ice on your way home.
Here is my son's 1969 Globetrotter on a snowboarding adventure. That is more weather than I can handle.

ScottSquared,
Congratulations on your new trailer! Moab should be fun.
Are you joining the Airstream Club? Maybe we'll meet some day.
And I like your username.
