Fridge temp control setting

What temperature setting seems to produce the best results on the new fridge? First outing where we actually got to use the fridge so I put it on 3. It is not packed full but thermometer we put in door showed just below 40. In the freezer the ice cream was soft.

Changed to 4 last night and temp and ice cream seem the same this morning. We put a second thermometer in the freezer and changed to level 5. Will check it again later today.

Outside temps last night in mid 50s, high around 80. We turned it on at storage the day before trip so it had time to cool down. Just trying to determine "normal" expectations before hot Texas summers. Our 23FB had no temperature control, and once I fixed the vent fan behind fridge it had no issues. The beer was cold and the ice cream firm.

A perfect full-scale-model of "normal" IMO!

Your two thermometers will let you continue to adjust things. The experiences of others, even if they have the same model in a similar geographic/weather scenario, is just a rough guideline.

Sounds as if you are already ahead in the process of defining your new normal IMO.

"Trust the beer and ice cream!"

Happy trails,

Peter

PS -- It helps not to put warm items in the fridge or freezer. Buy things already cold, or pre-chill items in a cooler in the tow vehicle etc.. This makes a huge difference in zeroing in on the fridge's performance.
