(As usually) I am totally confused:
Airstream told me, that - at least my GT 27FB - would come with e Norcold fridge and also gave me the exact model number: N8DCSSR...
Either that now changed again or different GTs get different fridges...
@Warpath: which volume is this Nova Kool? 8cui?
I am so curious, what I will get in the end, this seems to be a big surprise box

27GT Refrig and freezer
We have a 27GT on order and our dealer (Airstream DFW) said that he was told by Airstream that it will be a Norcold 8cft.
Hopefully the next new 2021 27GT owner can validate what is actually installed.
Thanks...

GT 25FBT on order
We have a 2021 25FBT GT on order and were told that the 23 and 25 will have a Nova Kool fridge and the 27 and 30 ft will have a Norcold. Model numbers were not available.

Thanks everyone, that makes kind of sense then and would match what I got told (Norcold N8DCSSLR in 27FB).
I didn't think especially between 25FB and 27FB would be a difference...

For those getting a 2021 25 foot Globetrotter, I am really interested in hearing your experience with the refrigerator, especially in hot weather. I believe the Nova Kool RFU6800 should fit fine in my 2019 27. It is actually smaller in each dimension than the Dometic RMD 8555 and roughly the same overall interior space.
Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve,
We should have ours in 2 to 3 weeks and we live in Austin TX. We plan on some shakedown trips locally shortly after it gets here. The highs have been high 90's to low 100's so I should be able to give it a good test. I'll report back on this thread.

Just brought our new 2021 GT30RBQ home yesterday. Overall, we're very pleased. But it's not all roses. Here's some of my thoughts so far:
Surprised that there were so many cabinets misaligned and not sitting flush. upon our initial walk-through. Bathroom door is slightly warped and the dealer has to order us a new one under warranty. During our overnight shakedown, the shower leaked water into the bedroom. And our hitch jack blew a fuse the next morning. Dealer fixed most everything while we waited.
I'd concur regarding the new compressor style fridge. The new Norcold unit gets and stays very cold. We have the big 10 cu ft model on ours. The freezer got cold faster than the fridge. We put in room temp packaged ice pops and and an hour later they were frozen solid. It makes some noise at night. Nothing terrible though. The AC system is very loud though. Much louder than expected. So much for "Quiet Stream AC." Nothing quiet about it. Still, it was in the 90s and super humid here in Florida and we were very comfortable.
The new Fusion sound system is nice and sounds great. Paired with my phone to play Spotify fairly easily, though not super intuitive. Strange that Zone 1 (the lounge area) doesn't control the subwoofer. Zone 2 (the bedroom) is paired with the sub. This is odd as I'd think the main zone should have that. Wondering if I could rewire this easily.
Under the front lounge is the new Victron MPPT solor charge controller. It's the 150/35 for anyone wondering, which is a very nice unit. Should be able to run 800-1000W of solar through this with no need to swap it out. And the new 8 AWG prewire will work as well. What was surprising was that the MPPT was (and still is) just sitting loose in the electronics bay. Not attached to anything. And the wiring inside is sloppy in general. I'm not too concerned as I plan to upgrade to MultiPlus 3000 and 600Ah LiPo anyway. But still....
Ours came with the convection microwave "upgrade". Not our first choice. Would have been nicer to have a gas oven for boondocking. And the door is very low down. Not convenient to swing open. The slide-out pantry microwave is a much better placement. Also, the cabinet work around the stove is sloppy in this configuration. Looks like an afterthought. We didn't really have a choice in the matter. It was this or waiting for many more months.
Still not sure why there is no regular size mirror in the lav. The little makeup mirror is strange. I'm going to mount a regular wall mirror in there.
Our unit was supposed to come with a Tuft and Needle mattress, but it arrived at our dealer with no mattress. A mattress did finally arrive, just not a T&N. The bed was okay. A bit stiff for my taste. Our teenage daughter slept on the front lounge. The Globetrotter lounge cushions are not soft. She told us it felt like sleeping on the floor. We're going to get some TempurPedic toppers for both the front lounge and the rear queen.
We're currently gearing up for our first trip next week. The Denali 2500HD towed great. The AirSafe Class VI and Reese Straight Line made for easy and comfortable towing. Still some work to do and much figuring out where to put everything. Fun, fun.

We also had our jack and bathroom exhaust fan fuse blow. Dealer found the problems and fixed them. And here is our TV and our 25FBT.

Congrats on your new 25FBT! Ours is supposed to arrive end of October.
Did you get factory solar and any info on the charge controller and inverter you received?
Thanks!

Thanks! Your gonna love yours when you get it!! Yes we got the factory solar. The charge controller is a Victron MPPT 150/35 and in the mountains of paperwork we got i didn't get a manual on the inverter, but i took a shot of the owners guide.

First and most important... Congratulations on your new coach!
Our GT 27FBT is scheduled to arrive in October. We have heard/seen mixed data on what to expect, so looking for another data point...
1) Does your unit have the Norcold 8 CF refrig?
2) Did you do the queen or twin? What is the thickness of the mattress? We heard the standard was 8.5 inches.
3) Did you order with the factory solar panels? If not, did it still come with batteries? We are scheduled to add an after-market solar system, but I had read that we can’t pull the coach to the solar install without batteries.
Thank you in advance for your response.
Scott
