Any concerns with the 2018/19 floors?

I’ve seen concerns about the webbed flooring on Airstream Globetrotter Fans Old & New FB page. How has your experience been so far?

We have a 2019 Globetrotter. We love the floor. No issues like the ones I've seen in the FB group you mention. I once tracked in some motor oil or something. It easily cleaned up. My wife loves the floor.

Our 18' GT sits in covered storage all summer and we use in the spring/fall. About a month ago I went to check on "Rivets". I noticed that there was a section of flooring about an inch wide from the doorway to about the bathroom that had lifted or bubbled up.
I took it into our local dealer the following week and was told that somehow the flooring either stretched in the heat or was cut too big to begin with. Obviously a warranty issue, the dealer said they would need a month or so to either re-stretch or replace the flooring. Our concern is that Rivets is extremely tight with all cabinets and doors aligned perfectly. Everything sitting on top of the flooring will have to be removed and reinstalled post the flooring fix. The potential for misalignment/gaps/etc after another shakedown period are a huge concern for us. We're heading out for a multiple week trip this weekend and will deliver to the dealer upon our return.
Just curious if anyone else has experienced this and would appreciate any thoughts.

Sounds like a job for Jackson Center to me.

I don’t think you have to worry about them taking all of the cabinets out. The dealer will likely just glue down the piece that bubbled up. The entire floor in our IS was “replaced” in warranty by the dealer. All they did was cut the old vinyl around the walls and cabinets and installed the new floor. This was the recommended fix from AS. Still dealing with bubbling...

We have a 2018 GT with the "webbed" floor covering. So far so good. No issues whatsoever, even with our grandson.

My DW was concerned that it would be difficult to clean but it cleans easily with some soap (detergent) and a little water.

We have a 2018 GT that developed a bubbled up area along the side of one of the twin beds. We pointed it out when we took the trailer in to get some other things fixed. The technician said they had seen one that had raised up from front to rear in the trailer and he reported that the problem results from the floor not being attached securely enough when it is installed...hard to tell. It was covered under warranty and the dealer had to completely remove one bed and stretch the flooring flat. When we picked it up we noticed that another bubble about six inches long was developing in front of the panty. We are living with it for now to see what else develops. It is really cosmetic and not a safety or trip hazard, although it is more than a little frustrating.

This sounds like ours and the supposed fix is to remove anything on top of flooring and re-stretch.

We have a 2019 Globetrotter delivered in July and have no issues with the floor so far.

Our 2018 Globetrotter developed a "bubble" in the woven flooring the full length of the trailer sometime during this summer while in covered storage. We took delivery in May and never used it until Aug on a 43 day Adventure Caravan. It is now at the dealer for this warranty work. Disappointed this occurred..

I would absolutely bring back to JC. Dealers (more specifically their techs) do not have incentive (are not financially motivated) to deal with the labor hours required to perform a proper floor replacement.

2019 Globetrotter vinyl floor bubbles

We now have a 5"bubble/hump that runs 10' from the door to the twin beds.

We have a new 2019 25ft Globetrotter. Noticed a small bubble at dinette and dealer fixed. After our first trip, noticed a two foot bubble, length wise, in front of sink. Ohio is a long way to travel so reluctantly took back to dealer. Picked up yesterday and seems good. Time will tell. FYI, the dealer showed me a small strip of the “fabric” carpet. It is actually padded linoleum with a weave face for appearance. The good news is that it appears more impenetrable to liquid than I thought. Contrary to DYI advice I have seen posted, I would NOT allow anyone to glue down the flooring when they repair. Would make subsequent repairs difficult. I feel your pain as I really stressed over this thinking I had a lemon. Find a good dealer to service/repair.

Bubbled floor with a 25' 2019 GT here as well. Runs from the entry door all the way to the front twin beds. Three inches wide and about 1/2" tall.

We don't have new GT, but I wonder why AS doesn't use a "floating" click type floor covering. We replaced the carpeting in our 1989 Excella 5 years ago have traveled a lot across country, over very rough roads (live in upstate New York). Have observed no buckling/gaps. While it might take more time on the assembly line to install around cabinets, appliances, etc., it is not that difficult. Also, repair or replacement of the floor would easier if needed. Not so sure about the "stretching" and/or glueing of a vinyl floor, sounds like a temporary fix. Good luck and safe travels!!

AS installs the floor covering in one sheet even before the shell is attached to the frame.

BINGO!
(I believe they are already nearly a year behind meeting orders.)

Actually they don't anymore, we saw our globetrotter after touchdown of the shell. The interior skins were in, the edges were painted a black (or dark color) which was some type of epoxy or edge sealer, then plywood everywhere. The flooring went in before the cabinets however.

Just ordered a Dyson vacuum. Wondering if the suction is too strong and would contribute to a "bubbled floor"?
