I asked a more general question in the Community forum but wanted to tailor it more specifically to current new Flying Cloud owners - after research we felt that the 23' Flying Cloud was the sweet spot for us...but then discovered the similar 23 'Serenity and Signature models. Why would someone purchase one of these instead of a Flying Cloud? The specs are almost the same. Why did you purchase a Flying Cloud instead of one of these similar models? Thanks.

We did not like the sliding doors. We did like the swing open doors on the FC. The down side to the FC is the formica counter material. We really like Corian, but it's a trailer and not our home. We can accept the formica for this application. It's just not enough of an issue for us to give up the FC.

You see, the FC23FB has dual sinks in the galley. You are either a dual sink person or you are ???? But in any case, it is part of the consideration. Unless you are one of those "D" folks? And that is a totally different conversation. Check out the 23D and the 23FB threads. Some good stuff there.

Search on 23D and 23FB as well as Flying Cloud, Serenity, International and Safari. Not everyone has posted in the dedicated threads. They are not very old either. Note that features vary as models change through the years. The new coaches have some improved features that do make new models better. Do your research and enjoy the hunt.

I didn't like dinettes in general, or the plastic cabinet doors on the international.
The Classic was over my budget and had some things that were too failure prone for a RV.

Well, flying cloud is the bottom of the trim line.
No disrespect implied. It is the same great trailer.
The Serenity is a step up in trim and finish from the flying cloud. The Signature is a step up from the Serenity. Each step up costs about $15,000.
So, it really comes down to how much you love the decor and if it is worth the cost to you.
Some folks are very happy with the cloud because it a great trailer and the additional bells and whistles are not worth the cost especially if they will sell it after the kids are grown.
Other folks who will buy and keep a an Airstream for 20 years often tend to spend more and buy a few more upgrades or even go all out on the Classic.

We hold on to our “big purchase” items for a very long time. Taking very good care of them and squeezing every bit of life out of them!
We purchased our 2016 27FC TB knowing we would make modifications and decorator improvements. I can’t leave things alone and the wife loves to decorate. So why be any different in our A/S. We figured the $20k extra on the higher end models could go a long way in customizing and decorating it to fit our style taste and needs. We always have that idea of the next “improvement” to make. 2 years into this hobby and we have no regrets.
We use our “Pinni” (named after Pinnicles National Park) at least one long weekend a month. The other 27 days we sitt in it on the side of the house.

We bought the Flying Cloud because that was what the dealer had on the showroom floor. That being said, we have looked at the others, but like the esthetics of the Flying Cloud best.

The day we bought our Flying Cloud, we walked back and forth sitting first in the FC, then a Signature, then a Serenity, then back to the FC. We simply did not like the decor of the others.

BTW, I did not understand the attraction of the sliding glass doors on the upper end models until the first time I bumped my head on an open cantilever door. I am 6'2". We have had the trailer for 6 months, and it still happens at least once on every trip.

As others have said, we just liked the flip up cabinets better on the Flying Cloud, better access.

We were also very seriously considering the FC23 but wanted to avoid having to climb over one another to get in and out of bed. You’ll find lots of discussion of this on this forum. The 25, especially the twins, are the shortest Airstreams where you don’t have to do that. In our mind it was worth the extra couple of feet. If it’s trailer for short trips it may not matter. If you are going to do more extended trips it’s food for thought.

Also the wrap around windows front and back on the 25s are pretty amazing.

Consider the FC 25. The additional 6/8 inch width might be better. I was torn between the 23 and 25, and happy to have gone for the 25.

Flying Cloud is a great choice. Looks more Contemporary than the Artsy yet Cool Serenity. We were going to get the International Signature, (28) but hated.. yes hated the Slippery Ultra-Leather. You literally slide while you're sitting there. We were going to get the Flying Cloud because of the awesome upholstery, (Truffle).
And then, "Bells".. The Globetrotter. Winner on all fronts. Bigger Kitchen awesome Floorplan. More goodies.
You can't lose on any of your choices and I'll bet there'll be a 23' Globetrotter in the near Future!
