Water heater

In process or dewinterizing..... new owners of 2017 27ft FB. My question: before we run the water through the pipes to clear winterizing fluids..... is there a need to shut off water access to the water heater? I know it is not flushed with antifreeze, only drained and the plug left out for winter. We have flushed it and have plug cleaned and ready to put back. But it occurred to us that we maybe are not supposed to flush the ‘pink’ through it. How do we keep from doing so? We don’t know of any bypass valve for the water heater.

It has to have a bypass if your system is pumped full of antifreeze, but your WH is empty.

I wouldn't worry about pushing some antifreeze into the WH when flushing lines. I always flush them well, plus sanitize the fresh water tank and run the sanitized water through the lines before I use the water system for the season
