Removing dinette

Hello
Anyone have before and after pictures of a 28 rear bed removing a dinette. Pictures of what was needed to remove is greatly appreciated and issues you might have had.

Thanks

Dinette

I installed a dinette in a 1973 23' . just a screwdriver was needed. Lift ip cushions lift up plywood seat bottom. Remove drawer and take out screws holding base. there might be screws holding seat back to wall also. Took me maybe 20 min.

one issue:
Many times there is a wheel well beneath one of the dinette seats. You might not have floor space you expect.

Hi there! Did you end up removing everything? What did you do with the wheel well? We just removed the dinette out of our 22’ Sport and we feel like we can finally breathe! Haven’t decided what to do with the space yet, but we know we want a little desk and chair. But I’m mostly happy that I can do yoga and cook comfortably!

I would love to see what you end up doing as we have a 2018 22FB as well and would like to remove the dinette...it seems so useless for the two of us and our two 4-legged travel buddies.

Thx in advance!

Not yet. It appears that I need to create a 10 " box either out towards the middle of the trailer or along the TV wall or just a small box that covers the wheel well.

There was a picture on instagram of a 28 that put in a desk a few months ago. It was done by ultimate airstreams and is on their insta. They have done a few different mods for the 28.

Our FC20 dinette removal was similar . . . every screw was fairly obvious.

"Man has put it together . . . man can take it apart . . . "

The least obvious screws are the ones holding the dinette back [if any] to the wall, as their heads are colored to match the fabric.

One caution . . . the metal used in the OEM screws is very soft, so if you use a power driver, with a magnetic holder for the Phillips tips, be sure to have brand new tips available, and to align the bit with the center-line of the screw being removed. Many of ours were "driven-to-death" by the sloppy AS factory installer, and often their Phillips heads were almost stripped out. We used new harder SS screws to re-assemble, and pre-drilled a correctly-sized [larger] pilot hole for each new screw, another "missing detail" in the factory installation.

Grrrr...

Hi there! I have a dinette to sell! I live in Idaho and depending how far it is, I’m willing to deliver it. What price range are you looking for? I would love to sell it before this winter so I’m super motivated to sell. Let me know, thank you 😊

Hahaha that’s so funny, the mobile version doesn’t show the state, or maybe I missed it!

Either way, I’m actually going to be driving to Texas sometime in the near future for work, so maybe it would work out!

Hi Karen!

We are still in the design phase, but we will let you know what we end up doing. We will probably custom make a couch chair over the wheel well and add a removable table to the wall with a fold up chair that can be stored away. Right now I’m enjoying the room for yoga 😊
