Progressive Dynamics Converter for 26U

Hello Everybody and greetings..

Does anyone know the model number and size I need from Progressive Dynamics to change out the stock converter from a 2016 26U?

Many thanks!

Call Randy at BestConverter.com and tell him you have a Parallax 8355 unit. I, personally, prefer the Progressive Dynamics PD4655V, but he is the expert. The PD is a direct drop-in replacement. It comes with a replacement 12v circuit board, but you don't have to use it. I did.

Hi, just saw this post and was curious what the benefit to replacing the converter would be. I also have a 2016 26U.......also noticed we're not far from each other, I live in Frederick, MD. Thanks for any information on why you're replacing the converter.

In 2016 Airstream was putting a single stage battery killing Parallax/Magnatek converter/charger in the trailers. If you left it plugged in all the time, you really had to watch the water in the batteries because that unit would boil the batteries dry, ruining them.

In 2018, Airstream changed to a WFCO converter/charger. It is still a piece of crap, but it is not a single stage battery killer. It just won't go into boost mode for a fast recharge when you are boondocking. If you never camp without 120v power, the WFCO is adequate.
