Interior Storage FC 28FB
Wife and I are looking at a 2018 FC 28FB Queen. One thing she noticed is that it does not have a pullout food pantry in the galley as some other models do. (I believe it was the 25's in which we saw the pantry)
For those who have the 28 footer, where/how do you store food supplies and do you find the storage sufficient (realizing how subjective the latter question is).
Thanks in advance.

Our 27 foot also has the pull out pantry with the micro wave.

Great question. We spent >2 years deciding between a 30, 25, or 28. Ended up with the 28 RBQ. No regrets - absolutely perfect for us. Extra cabinets above dinette are used plus additional shelves easily added to the hall closet.

I guess the fc is different than the Globetrotter. We have a pull out pantry and a pull out microwave. Maybee you could modify it or reduce the size of the closet and make a large pantry.
Unless you plan to live in it full time we find we have enough storage.

We just bought an interstate nineteen Coach and I have no idea where to keep things. Does anyone have hints or experience they’d share? For example the sheet and blanket take up an entire upper storage cabinet!

Interior Storage FC 28FB
We had a 25’ That we traded for a 28’ International. The interior storage compartment behind the couch is much more useful than the roll out pantry that we had in the 25’. We bought 4 square wire baskets to fit in the compartment to keep things organized.

Do you mean the storage behind the front "L" couch? Hadn't thought about that. In fact, when I saw it I wondered what would fit there.
Thanks for the tip.
Any other significant differences you enjoy?

We have a 2018 28 RB queen. I don't think they make a FB in the 28. Anyway, we store most food in the two cabinets over the dinette. Heavy items like canned good are in the floor level shallow cabinet under the microwave (or oven). I store bottled or canned drinks under the forward dinette bench in an old soft drink crate with dividers. As someone else mentioned, the hall closet can easily have shelves added for pantry space, we just have not needed it. We love our 28 floorplan.

Agree- 28 is a rear bed AS... the 27', is actually 28' long...confusion. We store our food in cupboards above the dinette, but heavy cans goods we store in one of the slider containers under the couch. We don't use much canned food anyway; mostly packaged, frozen, or fresh. We also store the liquor and wine below the dinette in a basket. We carry a 3 gal fresh water container with manual pump for drinking/coffee, which we leave on the floor in the Apex of the L-couch or move under dinette for travel. We have twin; we have shelves in both closets at foot of beds, and just use hanging closet for coats and extra storage...lots of room in the 28. The 27' has more closet space mid ship, but, like the 25', does not have the seating separation for dinning with the separate couch, nor the extra cabinets above the dinette. Everyone has a favorite!

We store extra blankets behind the couch...we store the canned food and other "stuff" under the couch in the plastic slide out containers..

Just got back from our maiden voyage in our '19 28RBT
Interior storage allocation:
- Overhead above stove: "Pantry" items (cans, dry food)
- Overhead above dinette: Trash bags, ziplocks, plastic cups, plates etc
- Cabinet Below sink: Pots & pans, cutting boards
- Shelves below sink: Silverware, kitchen utensils
- Small Dinette cubby: Lamps, electrical cords
- Large Dinette cubby: Bins, for clothes & stuff for youngest son
- Under Couch: Bins, for clothes & stuff for oldest son
- Bedroom cubby1: Wife's stuff
- Bedroom cubby2: My stuff
- Bedroom overhead1: Wife's stuff
- Bedroom overhead2: My stuff
- Twinbed1: Camping stuff (lights, pocket knives, batteries...), air compressor, hose
- Bathroom: Sewer treatment stuff, toiletries, TP, small trash bin in cabinet
Exterior:
- Bumper: Extra sewer hose, rubber gloves, sewer elbow, paper towels, trash bags
- Side cubby1: wood blocks, plastic blocks, grey hose, electrical cords, lights, chocks, extension cords
- Side cubby2: 50A cord, dogbones, tools, clean water hose
- Trunk: Small gas grill, extra propane tanks, beer (*burp*!)
Unused: (yes, it's true)
- Interior Twinbed2
- Interior Behind the couch
This trailer has more storage than our SOB ever did! But I'm glad we got a Twin version, a Queen without the two extra exterior lockers would be more of a pain.
We even found a use for the little area next to the couch. A company called simplehuman makes a perfect little trash bin for that spot, found it at Home Depot for $30. Matches the aluminum interior!

With our 28 ft rear Queen we installed pull out drawers in the closet next to the refrigerator. Its a perfect pantry and holds everything that we need. All of our pots and pans and small appliances go in pull out containers under the sofa.Dishes and utensils in kitchen cabinet drawers.Glasses and misc in overhead.
Clothes in his and hers closets next to bed.Containers under bed for shoes and misc.
Smooth travels.....

I assume the extra exterior storage is under the twin beds... but doesn't this mean loss of interior storage? Or is it somehow not a zero sum game?

The storage moves to a different place
Queen
- Larger interior closets
- Likely larger overall under-bed storage (due to lack of partitions)
- No middle drawer
Twin
- Retains some under-bed storage
- Gains two exterior cubbies
- Smaller closets
- Middle drawer

Not shown in the pictures are 2 additional cupboard storage areas above the twins at the back of the coach, and 2 more above the dinnette; adjacent to the 2 located above the stove/sink area; note these 2 extra cabinets are not included in the International model. The 2 extra outside storage compartments that only come with the twin models, are quite large and hold a lot of "stuff".
The extra space to change/move around inside and storage in the Twin models is very nice to have...but don't underestimate the value of these extra cabinets and 2 extra outside storage units...after 2.5 years with our 28 Twin, we still have extra space for storage outside if needed for something...(and dare I say, the Gypsymom is always thinking/looking for something else to store in there!)

The twin bed configuration is fine until it gets cold out and you’re sleeping full length next to that cold surface. That issue is eliminated with the queen bed configuration.
Those items you store in your outside compartments fit inside a plastic tote. They travel underneath the dinette in the down position and store outside under the Airstream when parked. No key required.

What ever floats your boat. 4th AS; 3rd with Twins. If youve never had the luxury of those extra compartments with the Twins for storage, I understand your method; just don't see coiling up a 50A 25' power cord into a plastic box as an easy task each time we camp.
Forgot to add...I never sleep close to the wall so not sure there is a problem you mention...

Me either. My 50 amp chord and Progressive Industries surge protector ride just inside the door on the floor. Last item in and the first item out.

Converting storage
We too went from a 23’ International with pantry to a 2018 28RB International and miss the pantry. Our conversion of coat closet to kitchen storage worked well. On both trailers, the best conversion we made was to have custom made pull out shelving for all lower cabinets which saves our backs! Made from a company called Rev-A-Shelf.
Sorry about pics being sideways. Tried editing in phots but they still get posted this way. If interested you can save the image to your photos and view it properly there.
