If Mama ain't happy, ain't .......
After 7 years with a FC23FB, we traded this week and got a 2024 FC28RBTwin. In addition to being 4 feet longer, with a sitting area and couch, it is 6 inches wider. My wife says 6 inches is important.

Truer words were never spoken.
We have had two 23 models, and just a couple months ago bought a gently used 2019 25 RBT. The difference in width between the 23 and our 25 is way under rated. The 25 feels much, much more spacious.
Enjoy the new trailer!

Enjoy your 28' RBT! Ours is still going strong after 7 years! Hope your TV is able to handle the 28'; I moved from the 1/2T F150 to the F250 6.7L and very comfortable towing with this set up. Hate driving the 3/4T around town vs the F150 but for towing, love the handling, braking, and extra payload capability when towing! Lots of storage in the 28' FC...two more storage cabinets above the dining area then other 28' models, plus the outside storage cabinets are good size with the twin model.

OP here. I bought the Airstream on 6/3 (picked up on 6/12), and I ordered an F-350 on 6/4. I expect delivery in about a month since Ford has notified me that it will be built the week of 6/24. (My F-150 only had to tow it home.)

Your wife is right. It is sneaky, but that six inch width differential provides over 12 square feet of interior space over the narrow body trailers of the same length: old versus new is a gain of over 60 square feet or almost 375 cubic feet of bragging rights. Of course, you surpassed her six inch glee by over sizing your new tow vehicle.

Congrats! Let us know how you like the 'gasser'. I have the 6.7L diesel; when I got mine, the Ford service manager had purchased his F250 with the "gasser" and told me he wished he had gotten the diesel after a few trips towing his 30' SOB. I never drove the gasser in that size, so didn't compare. His issue was MPG and missing the engine brake vs the diesel. Be interesting to get some recent feedback on the new ones.

I have a 2022 F250 with the 7.3l gas engine and 3.55 axle ratio. Our previous trailer was a 30 foot SOB and our previous truck was an F150 5.0l 3.73 axle ratio. The F150 pulled the trailer just fine, but as expected, the F250 handled it better. Earlier this year we got the Airstream Flying Cloud 28RBT. The 28RBT is about 2 feet shorter but about 1,000 pounds heavier than our previous trailer. I am surprised at how much better the Airstream tows. It is much more stable and my MPG while towing increased by almost 2 MPG!
I think that the 7.3l is a good pairing for the 28RBT. I've never owned a diesel but I know they tow even better.

Good info. I also towed my 25's with a F150 which towed fine; I just was always over the "payload" number, before I learned what that was! The big difference likely, with the F250 gas vs diesel, is MPG and also exhaust brake with the diesel. Not sure that is important to many folks, but I like the exhaust braking for sure. MPG- I now can get 13-14 while towing...and I just turned 168K miles...Life is good!
Still, I would prefer driving/parking the F150 around town with a 25! (wife still dissagrees with me, so F250 and 28' it is for foreseeable future!)

Nice! Hard to beat the MPG and available torque of a diesel. 10 MPG when towing is about as good as I get out of the 7.3l. Average only about 15 MPG with around town driving and about 18 - 19 MPG with highway driving.
The F150 is a much better ride and better MPG and I do miss it when not towing.
