Hensley hitch on 26U FC

I would like to know if anyone who has a Hensley Hitch on their 26U can tell me if the front compartment will open fully with the Henley Hitch installed. I know that the ProPride hitch (which is very similar to the Hensley Hitch) does not allow the front compartment to open fully.
Thanks for any information that you might have.

Instead of the towers for the PP you can get the straps. Then you can open up the compartment.

Thanks for your prompt reply.
I'm not aware as to what the ProPride straps are. Would you know if Hensley offers something similar?
Thanks once again

I have a Hensley on a 2018 International 27FBQ.....I chose Hensley because the weight distribution towers sit outside the frame and do not interfere with my storage hold above the battery box at all. Even if they did they can pivot out of the way very easily.....Plus I wanted the original.....Hensley has been around a long time.

The people at Hensley are amazing..matter of fact texted them today (Saturday) and they returned my text in less than 5 minutes!

You won’t go wrong at all choosing Hensley...high quality hitch.

Appreciate your comments. That's very helpful.
I currently have the BlueOx hitch & just not comfortable with the potential for sway in an emergency situation.
Have you encountered situations when it was quite difficult to hook-up to the trailer due to the truck & trailer not being level with one another?

So when I bought my Hensley they offer a hitch helper (helps align hitch right to left 6 inches each way) and some very nice wheel chocks (scissor style that go between dual axle AS). These 2 items (about $100 additional for both helper and 2 chocks) helped me align really very easily when I first was getting used to the couple/uncouple routine. If you can back up now and hit the ball.....you will get this as fast too. It may look intimidating but not nearly what you think. I believe also the key is releasing the weight distribution tower compression BEFORE uncoupling allowing hitch head to move....and likewise....when coupling up that “yaw” of the hitch head while tower tension is still released helps for a lot of out of level scenarios..if you do the above my expierence is that is I am able to uncouple....I can re-couple back up with the right helper and wheel chocks....and so far so good. That Hensley hitch head can oscillate really well for misaligned scenarios.

Hensley hitch was an outstanding addition to my rig. Terry at Hensley is an absolute professional. I blind trusted him and he did me right.....and in this day in age blind trusting a $2500+ decision was a big deal for me. I could tell by talking with Terry his confidence in his product and it’s reputation in the hitch world. Sold me and I am very happy and confident with my Hensley hitch (if you couldn’t tell by now!)

Give Terry a call and ask him every one of your questions!

Hensley Hooking Up....

'O' rings and Hitch'n Rods

You can level the head by using both jack screws, tilt side to side by using one, the head will self align side to side and has never been a problem for us.🤓

Back slowly until the shank is an inch or so in the head, get out and look, make sure the AS wheels are chocked, put in reverse, on level ground I don't even have to give it gas, usually seats in no problem.👍

I have a 25FB with the front compartment and I tow with the Hensley. I can also confirm that the Hensley won’t interfere with the compartment door. Another benefit of the Hensley over the Pro Pride is that the Hensley will give you about 1.5” more ground clearance from the bottom of the spring bars to the pavement. Giving you a less chance of scraping when going through a dip.
