GFCI issue
Hello all.
Unfortunately we have had to evacuate our home as a result of these fires in California. We have a generator that supplies plenty of power which is fantastic, but it's loud and expensive to run. We try to be respectful of people around us and not run it past 9pm. We have noticed that the last 3 nights, when the generator is NOT running, that the GFCI Breaker trips and we loose power to a lot of outlets, and thus our little box fan doesn't work.
Our invertor stays on when the generator is off.
What things should I look at to determine why this GFCI Breaker trips when it's not connected to shore power. The fan is only a 1amp draw and absolutely nothing else is plugged in. the fan will run for a while, maybe 2 hours, and then the breaker trips and we don't want to turn the generator on just to reset the GFCI, especially in the middle of the night!
Any help is sincerely appreciated!
