Flying Cloud 23 FB

Anyone know if AS will make a Flying Cloud 23 FB with twin beds instead of the walk around queen? Will the space even accommodate it?

Thanks

Yes, they do. If memory serves, the closets were altered and the twins were closer together. Wasn’t cheap.

Did you check the 23FB thread?

There is a thread on here somewhere. A couple took their Airstream back to the mothership and had the conversion done. You won't find one ready-made though.

Thanks all. I found a utube video from Airstream Northwest that converted one...looks great. 34” x 80” twins with lots of storage underneath. Wonder why AS does not offer this as an option?

23' Front Twin

I did this with our 23' FB FC. This gives you a lot more room to walk around, lounge, get dressed etc. etc. It also affords a lot more storage space accessed by the outside storage cabinet. Why doesn't AS offer this? I can't guess. Probably has more to do with the rest of the cabinetry, like the wardrobe at the foot of the curb side bed. In order to get a full length bed in that side I had to remove the drawer portion and leave the upper remaining half as a hanging (mounted) cabinet. The drawers became the night stand between the head of the beds. We love the result though because a queen size bed is always just that. Two twins become extra seating during the daylight (visiting) hours. Well worth the effort. It wouldn't be cheap to have it done. I, fortunately for me, have all the shop tools needed to do the whole job myself

Outstanding work! Sure is tempting to consider modifying our 23 FB. Thanks for sharing your photo.

Here is the video of what Ultimate Airstream did for the twin conversion. (at least I think we attached it). I talked to Ultimate Airstream re doing this to our 2013 23fb. And yes, they do a beautiful job, and charge a lot to do the work. Mikeljla: did you disassemble the wardrobe and take it to your shop in pieces to cut it down? Your job looks just as wonderful as theirs does.

private message me and I can attach it to an email. I got it from Ultimate Airstream, and obviously don't know how to attach it properly to the forum site. Would love to share. We plan on doing this to our rig.
