Does size matter

I’m new to the forum and I apologize if this is a redundant question. We are in the market for an Airstream and I’m a bit torn between the 25FBQ and 27FBQ. A walk around bed in on our list of l”like to have”, but the bed arrangement in the 25 is a significant improvement over our current RPod situation. I’m wondering if owners of the 25 feel that the length makes it easier to get into places or out of sticky situations. I have a very capable TV (F250 6.7 PowrStroke) so I’m not concerned about extra weight. I’m mostly interested in what people like best about the 25 or 27. Thanks.

We have the 25 FC RBT I know you didn't ask about the twin beds but give it a look, we love ours just my 2 cent's

So much written on this topic! But it's fun to comment on. We had a 2004 Safari 25 with a corner bed which we didn't like. After selling that rig, we looked at the new (2019) 25s with the "East/West" queen, which was nice, but we thought we'd bump our heads getting out of bed (many have adjusted nicely and like the 25). Lots of people like the twin arrangement, but we wanted a queen. When we looked at the 27, we were sold. "North/South" walk around queen, more room in the galley; it was perfect for us. The 27 tows almost exactly like our 25 did, with probably just a little less tongue weight.

I don't think there is a wrong decision here, but I would look real hard at the 27. I'm sure you'll get more than a few opinions! Welcome to the Forum!

We came from a 30' Classic which, while full of great features, was too big to get into some of the places we wanted to camp. After a couple of nightmare experiences we decided to downsize and chose a 25' FB Globetrotter Twin, which is the perfect size for the two of us and one medium size Labrador.

The 25' gives up a bit of interior storage space to the 27' but that doesn't cause any issues for us and more importantly we've been able to get into State parks with it here in California where a 27' wouldn't be allowed.

We have a 25 fB international and love it. Have been able to camp in several state/national parks without an issue. Also love that we get to fully use the panoramic windows as our bed is east/west. Have be countless nights with amazing views that we have been able to enjoy a book in bed and able to enjoy the view at the same time.

Recommend that you visit the nearest AS dealer, by appointment these days, and check out the various models in person. Spend enough time in each one to answer the question only you can answer:

"Is this the one?"

When the "yes" light bulb flashes in your head, you will have your answer [and not until then IMO]. All these words, concepts and thoughts are simply preparing you for comparing the "full-scale models."

We love our 25' Classic two bed.
Like the room and not having to climb over and around one big object in a small room.

The extra 2' has more to do with layout than length gain.

We had a 25 rear twin. We like the rear twins because it affords interior space in the bedroom to get dressed, easily get up to go to the bathroom, etc. PLUS it gives you 4 outside storage compartments, AND we like the bathroom size/arrangement best in the rear twins.


We sold that 25 and now have a 30 foot rear twin.
