Dinette Down-Pictures of your lounge please
I would like to see your pictures and ideas on using the dinette in the down position, as a lounge.
What have you done to make this setup comfy and attractive? What strategies do you have for setup/takedown if you do that?
Ideally I am interested in what you add on top of the cushions when in the lounge position. Do you add blankets, quilts, or other toppers? Extra pillows to add comfort?
What about side tables or storage ottomans too? Anyone have any ideas there?
Thanks in advance.

25 FB Dinette configuration change
We are going to try this configuration for awhile. I cut some 3/4” plywood to support one of the short seat and two backrest cushions from the lounge area to create this configuration. A small dog crate sits where the seat cushion was removed under the television. We tried it with the tabletop, but I thought we would try this next. Now i’m thinking about mounting a small tabletop, but we will try this first.

Looks comfy.
I am assuming you used the longer backrest from the side pull out area, and placed it as the main backrest at the back window?
I am not understanding where you are using the plywood, can you please explain?
Thanks

The plywood is used to replace the tabletop under the seat cushion from the couch. You are correct on the two back cushions. The tabletop was just too long to work.

Thanks,
Does anyone have any ottomans or side tables they like to use when they have the dinette in the Lounge position?

Hi Piggy Bank~
This is our lounge. Our AS is a 27’ twin fb. We’ve been enjoying this set up for over a year now and really enjoy it.
We enjoy dining outside when we can so the dinette was rarely used. We leave the lounge this way whether or not our sons are with us.
Bought sheepskins and throw pillows. Found a c-table whose legs can tuck under the lounge. Not in the photo, but we also have a small round tray that we place on top of the large back cushion near the door to place items like drinks, snacks or remotes. Also use rattan baskets underneath for extra storage and a boot tray for easy access for shoes near the door. Just remember to not block your furnace vent when the heat is on.
Hope these pictures help!

Great setup 4Riv.
We use sheepskins as well. Mind sending me a PM with your source? Those are huge!

Thanks this is the kind of info I had in mind. I have some similar tables that I could bring from home and try out.

Lbroadbike,
That looks great. How do you travel with the tables? On their side, or some other arrangement.

Grand Lounge
We gave up trying to make the FB factory dinette and lounge area work and are having Ultimate Airstreams perform their Gourmet Grand Lounge conversion on our new FC27.
Two high-low tables, seating for six and full under seat storage. Also get more galley storage and prep surface instead of the unusable space beside the TV.

We love it. What do they charge to do the FC27. The web page says starting at 15k, wondering if that’s for the smaller trailers. Also do you know how long it takes them.
Thanks

We use 2” wide blue painters tape, (from Home Depot). A few 4” loops underneath the sheepskin to stick it to the cushion does the trick.
The blue painters tape is a light tack and designed to release without leaving glue residue behind. I should add we avoid leaving it on during hot summer days and we store our Airstream under cover.
We just pull it off and toss it if we need the table up.
We always keep a roll of this tape in the Airstream. Comes in hand for when the cheap cabinet latches break and we need a way to secure a door shut or we need to secure things well for a bumpy ride home. We live in California and our highways leave a lot to be desired.
