Dexter Lift for 2022 Flying Cloud 25RBT

I’m looking for information on lifting a 2022 Flying Cloud. I asked my Airstream Dealer about a lift kit and they said the axles are Dexter #11…but when I had the RV Shop install the lift kit, the shop said the frame was a “Z” frame not boxed like it showed on the Dexter lift kit!

Did Airstream change the frame on the Flying Cloud in 2022?

Where can I have my Flying Cloud lifted for some light off highway boondocking?

Anyone had a lift done to their 2022 Flying Cloud?

Has anyone done any boondocking without a lift on their 2022 Flying Cloud.

We are full-timers as of the 3rd of December 2021 so we have to have all the ducks lined up before we can move out of the AS for the installation.

Thanks for any advice and information.

2022 Flying Cloud 25RBT (Hale Kea) with 2014 Tundra CrewMax TRD 4x4 (Overlander)…

Airstream of DFW is putting a 3” Dexter lift on our new 2022 25RBT this week, but we will not be going down to pick it up till 2/1. If you get stumped I am happy to reach out to our sales guy for info.

Thanks 2012FB,

My AS dealer won’t do a lift for my FC25RBT so I ordered the lift kit from Dexter and the SOB RV Dealer was going to install it. No Joy…

Can you send me the contact information for DFW AS so I can talk to their service department? You can sent it directly to me.

Thanks again for the information.

Overlander sends…

Is your dealer the one in Milton? What was their reason for not doing a lift?

Call Airstream DFW (Dallas Fort Worth) and ask for Scott. He is my sales guy and the one who has service installing the lift. He should be able to direct you to the right guy in service. They are large and have a very good staff.

Can you share (in round numbers) the price that DFW is quoting you? I need to get this done to my '21 International ASAP so I quit dragging at the end of my brand new driveway.

I ordered a lift kit from Dexter for my 2019. I attempted to install them. I started with the rear axle, good thing I did. I couldn't get the rear axle to drop because of the black tank cover. I looked it over and backed out of the job. I would still like to have mine lifted, not because of off-roading or scraping on the driveway. I use a ProPride hitch and would like to get my spring bars higher off the road. Any help out there?

Originally the estimate was $1,300 for the lift and $1,100 for a third solar panel install but the firm quote for both installed was $2045.95 including tax.

I had the lift kit installed for our 2016 30' Int for $500 in Bend, Oregon at a RV specialty shop. The kit was additional and I think it was $150 - $250 from etrailer.

I see you are in Bremerton, WA, and Spokane is a day's drive, but I had Hazzard Fab Worx in Spokane install my lift kit on my 2021 27' FC. They have done several and do excellent work. You can give them a call at 509-995-1176. They do all kinds of specialty work and it only took them a few hours.

I called Dexter themselves and they looked up which kit I needed and shipped it to HFW in Spokane. It was the right one in my case.

I love having it now as it was too low before. I caught my trailer bumper once coming out of a fuel stop, due to some funky curbing. Now I don't have to worry when I pull off the side of the road and off the pavement. Nowadays the pavement thickness is enough to scrap! A bonus is that it now rides perfectly level with my RAM 2500 Cummins. Previously l had to lower the truck slightly with the airbag suspension to be level.

We love getting off road, with it, but must always be careful. But with that kit, you'll be much more ready than before!

We have 2017 25FB that just got lifted. I called Dexter and based on my axle Dexter lift kit was K71-724-02. Bought it on Amazon. Had it installed by Master Tech RV in Denver area. All went well except he had to re-route a gas line that Airstream ran through the axle area which ran the cost up to $1,100. Also, we booncocked frequently without it but drug our Arse twice.

I bought my 20FB used via a dealer, part of the package was to install the lift (and extra awnings) before I even picked it up. I needed the lift before I tried to put it in my driveway (lift went well, I don’t drag, but w/o it, I think I might have). This was the East TN dealer, Chilhowee RV; however, not long after I bought mine, they were bought out by LazyDays. I’ve not been back by, don’t know how things might have changed.
