Cat litter box location

Hey all,

I have read a few thread about cat litter location and most of the people put it in the shower.

I am not a big fan about the shower thing and I was thinking something, but since I dont have my Airstream yet its hard for me to see if its going to work.

I ordered the 30 Bunk model and i was thinking about putting a trap door below the queen bed and another one to be able to reach the front storage area. I am wondering the size of the front storage and opinion if its actualy a good idea.

I have a 2021 30 bunk. Both sides of the queen bed are open. We place our Scottish Terrier’s bed under the left side of the queen. It’s out of the way, and it’s like a little den for her.

Our cat litter box is in the laundry room. The cat stays home, the dogs go camping.

In our 55 we keep the litter box in the shower when not showering. In the 66 we have it in one of the foot lockers under the front gaucho. I have a small open door and a split curtain over the opening that matches the window curtains. She’s a Calico named ( what else) Cali.

We have a rear bed queen. I cut a cat door under the bed in the wall separating the rear storage. Litter box goes in rear storage, put in plastic movable dividers to keep him from cruising the storage area. Reduces smell and mess and is easy to pull box out and clean from outside the unit.

We have a 30 twin and the cat box is between the dinette and recliners in the front. Lots of space. We never run into it, recliners open with lots of space. Cats have constant access without having to deal with an open (or closed) shower door.

We have a 30' Classic. The litter box (covered) is behind the dinette table. We keep her food & water there, too. Out of the way, lets us use the sofa/recliners, and as long as we scoop frequently, no odor. We picked up a mat that goes under the pan & keeps the litter from tracking into the rest of the trailer.

We use a covered cat box and place it under the dinette. No problem and "Cal Sephus" the cat, knows where it is. When I make strange trailer noises she climb under the bedding. She thinks she is hiding, but her bump is hard to miss.

Did you cut a access for through the panel ? Could I see a picture?

We have a Flying Cloud 30 with a rear queen. We have one cat and a dog who likes eating the cat food and cat turds, ( maybe I need to just buy cat food). We needed to separate both from the dog. What I came up with was using some of the space under the bed. There is access from both sides of the bed base into small compartments. To access the litter box the cat goes in the first compartment we’re I built a wood tray to hold a piece of carpet to catch the litter on her feet. The litter box is in the next compartment, (compartment behind the front door of the base). To clean the litter box we just raise the bed and scoop. The extra litter is also stored under the bed. Very little litter makes it’s way from Nader the bed. The food dish is on the other side. Our dog is not able to access either area, and we don’t have litter on the shower floor. My Airstream is in for service now but when I get it back if you want a few images, let me know

So Hubby and I travel up to 6 weeks or so at a time with our 5 year old kitty. We have a 25’ international and solved the box by putting it in the bedroom between our twins during the day and at night when we go to bed we move it out into the lounge area. In the morning we clean the box and replace it into the bedroom. It works great for us, although If anyone has a solution for the litter “scatter” I’d love to hear it. We have a towel under the box to catch most of it but…..and I sweep every day as well.

OK, where in the Atlas does the litter box go. Xena, the Warrior Cat has claws and liked to abuse top of dinette couch upholstery. What do we do with regard to cat claw damage in the Atlas? Thanks.

Well on topic, we use the litter that is pellets. It is Breeze. Don’t know the rest of the name but no scatter, much. We vacuum daily and the pellets are large, not small gravel. That works well for us.

As for clawing, we tell our cats not to do it. Actually, when they were little and wanted to claw something, I would run to the scratching g post and start clawing it myself. That taught the cats to do the same. Now that is all they claw, a little scratching post. Cats learn easily, you just have to show them. Laugh but it works. They paw the blinds but don’t claw it to get them raised at sunrise.

We have a 25 foot flying cloud RB. We had the queen bed converted to twin beds at Ultimate Airstream and this is the litter box set up they put in for us.

In our 27fb we put the litter box under the dinette table. No other good place that we could find...

WE use the Tidy Cat Breeze litter box wich uses pellets and a bottom pad. In the daytime the box sits just in the bedroom, and at night it is in front of the couch. No odour problems and no dust or dirt from this system.

We have declawed every cat we’ve had. ( Front only) I know some peeps don’t want to do this. You will then suffer the damage. Your choice. ��

We removed the 2 lower slider doors right beside the toilet and put litter box in the cabinet area. Placed a couple of wooden pieces on floor under litter box inside cabinet to make it level. Then filled it with litter. We keep bathroom door open for accessibility.

We signed a promise we would not declaw Rufus when we adopted him. The rescue said to bring him back if we could not keep that promise. He has scratched up some furniture. But we found these awesome cardboard scratch pads on amazon and for the most part any scratching now is just accidental. No one would ever know if we had him declawed, but a promise is a promise. And we could never give him back. So yea, he gets to stay in the house by himself while we're traveling. Our kids stop by and feed/water him.
