Can I tow without the batteries?

I store my batteries at home in the winter connected to trickle chargers. I store the trailer at a different location. I'd like to take the batteries out while at home, then tow to the storage site.

Is this safe? Will the AS exterior lights (brake, etc) work when hooked to the 7pin connector on tow vehicle, but has no batteries?

Not 100% sure on a 2016, but on my trailers all your running lights will work off the tow vehicle, the brake lights will work, but you will not have any trailer brakes if the trailer disconnects.

The lights and brakes work from the TV via the trailer umbilical cable. The brakes will not work if the trailer disconnects from the TV and the cable is pulled out. The trailer disconnect switch requires an on board battery to function.
