25FB 2nd AC?

Living in the northwest, I rarely, if ever, use the AC in my current or previous trailers. It seems as though many dealers are bringing in 25's with two AC's. Do folks like two AC's in their 25's?

Also, in my 19, I don't like using the heat pump for warmth as it is so much louder than the gas furnace.

Thanks,

Jason

There are times I wish my 25 had 2 AC units.

Thanks!

If you ever travel in TX, LA, MS, AL, GA, FL, SC or the midwest in summer, you’ll appreciate the two AC units. Not so much in the PNW.

There are times I wish my 23 had to AC units. We live in Alabama and travel to the beach in the summer regularly

If the temp is above 85 degrees and indirect sunlight, I often wish for a second AC. Often times, I will close the bedroom and bathroom doors to make the living room more comfortable....I admit, I like it cooler than most. I want my AC to be able to bring the temps down to 70 or below.

A 25 ft may look a little funny with 2 AC's, but if I were buying new I would get them.

Location Location Location...

I've heard enough people say they wish they could get their trailer cooler.. in the southern climes anyway. If you like it warmer you may be fine who knows, I know I'll be trying to acclimate to warmer indoor temps.

Think I've become spoiled with A/C in my old age, I've often said if refrigerants were banned I'd have to leave Texas promptly... which I don't want to have to do hence my decision to try to adjust a bit .

But enough rambling hehe

I have two units on mine, I'm only using one while I can get by with one, but when it gets Texas hot, I'll have an option to turn on the second one.

The ducting on our 2016 worked great. I imagine with a non ducted unit the 2nd AC would be a must but it worked fine for us with just one. Then again, the hottest we camped in was 100.

For those of you who have a 2nd AC, is one ducted? And the other ceiling mount?

It also looks like you lose one of the fantastic fans, in the bedroom, with the 2nd AC.

If you are going to play in Texas you need 2 on the roof! Another benefit is the second AC comes with a 50 amp hook up.

I'm a proponent of doing less with more.

Rather than going down the 2 A/C path, I'm going to looking at an improved and more efficient A/C unit. The Dometic Blizzard NXTs are now getting more reviewed as they make their way into the market. They seem to be well reviewed and add meaningful cooling capacity over the older model units.

I like my 2 fantastic fans too much so this is the path I will take when I give up on my current 12.5k Penguin unit.

When we got to Tucumcari, NM a couple of years ago, it was 111 deg and we were thankful for the 2nd A/C. If we had only one, it would have been an uncomfortable night.

Standard units from the factory on my FC25FB, second unit was a option and don't think there were choices on make/manufacturer
Can't say make/manufacturer but they really cooled that thing down well in the hot fall ( August ) we had. Hot August day and was chilly in there when I first looked a models on the lot..

Our 27' has two A/C units but we got it in September and haven't camped in a not enough location yet to need them. I admit I'd probably rather have the second fan because if I'm somewhere with only 30 Amps I can't run the second A/C AND I don't have a second fan. However if I'm camping in the heat and humidity this summer with a 50 Amp hookup I may be grateful for them! We bought ours used but essentially new and it had the two A/Cs, I didn't order them.

Our last trailer was a 30' bunkhouse...and we lived and camped in Texas. It being a '07, it was a single unit with no ducted system. We never had complaints about not getting it cool enough. A primary consideration was humidity control. We also had additional fans at each sleeping area to keep the air moving.

Now with a 25' with single unit and ducted air, we can manage the air distribution even better. Use the ducts to "balance" and control when and where you want the air. Still keeping the humidity under control as an extra comfort benefit.
