2023 dinette table question
Greetings!
We recently took delivery of our 25' FC RBT and during the walk-through, the tech recommended stowing the dinette table in the down position before getting underway. He said otherwise, the table would bounce on the extended leg and may cause damage.
Our maiden voyage/shakedown trip to Port Aransas during the holidays was a success, with many things learned to make setup/takedown more efficient. We really prefer keeping the dinette table up, so my question is whether fellow FCers have left the table up and what did you experience, or was there some fix you put in place to prevent "bad things" from happening. Thanks!

I don't put mine down unless I need it as a bed.

LOL My dealer told me to always put the table UP when towing!
Honestly I just leave it where it's at or however I want it to be on arrival.... and it's been absolutely fine.

Put a video camera in your Airstream before you depart on the next trip while leaving the table up. This will tell you if you want it up or down. We decided it was better to put it down after seeing how badly the table bounced while going down the road when we had our Flying Cloud Airstream.

Drive thru Shreveport on I-20 and you will see why putting it down or securing it better is a good idea. 99% of the time leaving it up is okay until.....

Exactly what Mojo said, the key to this story is “Shreveport and I20”! There’s nothing normal about those roads, definitely put my table down.

According to the the manual for a 2023 International, on page 3-6, under the suggested pre-travel checklist, it states: 9. Lower wall mounted tables to be even with dinette
seats. Place Pedestal tables in upright position. And on page 5-4, in the Dinette/Bed Conversion steps for a wall mounted table, it states: We recommend that you travel with the table in the lowered position.

We have a 2019 FC 25 RBT. We never put the table down. We do put a thick piece of carpet under the leg when traveling to prevent damage to the vinyl flooring. Many thousands of miles and almost 500 nights so far. Love our RBT.

Thanks all for your responses! I’m curious to see what happens when I mount a video camera in the trailer. Until then, I’ll stow the table down unless it’s a short transit.
