Interesting 2012 FC20 with more optional stuff, for $39,900 FYI:

https://www.airforums.com/forums/f53...ee-206121.html

Priced well to sell IMO . . . any thoughts?

Thanks,

Peter

Definitely does seem priced to sell. It's beautifully decorated and has the awnings all around. Great price for all the amenities.

Thanks Steve. Pricing that unit <$40k is the attention-grabber IMO. Food for thought.

I think that particular one is a little high, but it's also what I would start at if I were selling it. The awnings, inverter and general condition are nice, the other stuff like second tv and stereo, I don't think add to the value. No ultra-leather or info on consumables like tires and brakes are a downside. We paid 38k for a 2013 (one year newer) with ultra-leather, and that was two years ago. If I was selling and could get 35k today I would be happy.

I think the price is very attractive. I paid $35,000 for my 2007 Airstream Safari 20 footer In 2014. Having done online research, I felt that it was an appropriate price. When I purchased agreed value insurance, the appraisal came out at just a little under $35,000.

Thanks Marty.

Gonna coast on this for a month or so, get the trailer water on, and take a short weekend trip to check all the systems. Sale price TBD then, depending on supply and demand.

Will this Coronavirus situation change the equation for a small functional Airsteam, in excellent working order, which is “ready to hit the road, Jack, and don’t look back” ???

CalDream 2020?

Thanks again for everyone’s excellent feedback.

Happy Trails!

I think because of the Coronavirus, people will vacation local, (camp) as opposed to flying or cruising this year.
You might be in better shape selling this year than you think Peter.

Have a great time if you get out camping.

Thanks, Jose, good to hear from you! You mirrored my thinking on one possible effect of this virus. Of course, it may lose its strength with the warmer weather, also, from what they say. Time will tell.

How is the 23' working out? In one of your fairly recent posts last year, you were planning on traveling more, after your wife's retirement. Hope that went well.

Cheers,

Peter

Hi Peter, yes we are traveling a little more since last year but, both our parents are getting older and we are spending more time taking care of them along with our siblings. They are not doing well so we’ve decided that we will still get away but not as far and not as often at least for now.
As you say often, life gets in the way.
Hoping you and your spouse are doing well BTW.
The 23 has been problematic compared to our 2012 20 Flying Cloud but we do like the floor plan and the extra space.
Take care
Jose

I have a 2014 FC 20. I have a question about the check valve. Where is it located? In the water pump itself or external? I wish there were manuals with photos. Reason why I'm asking..occasionally when I have the water pump switch turned on it will cycle on, then off, ie I hear it make a noise then switch off. There is no water running. I do not know if there is a leak anywhere. Doesn't seem to be. What causes this? Do you know? Thanks.

Yes, in the pump. Mine has been doing the same lately. You should be able to get a kit for $10-$15 to fix it. Lots of people just replace the pump, but by the time you pull it out it's only another 10 minutes to fix instead of tossing.

You have posted a variety of symptoms and questions. It will be helpful [IMO] if we could address these in discreet steps, to check off variables in logical order, starting with these few things:

-- disconnect from city water
-- close drain for water tank
-- fill water tank with clean filtered [with new inline filter] water, using new hose for potable water
-- make sure all the low point drains are closed [incl. water heater drain plug and PRV at top]
-- turn on the pump, and bleed all air from all the hot and cold faucets, including exterior shower H/C and the toilet
.....[it helps to go around the trailer twice to make sure all the air is gone]
-- close all faucets etc.
-- wait for pump to turn off
-- check for leaks inside and under the trailer
-- check for leaks at the pump [under the large drawer below the oven/range/cooktop]

If no leaks, is the pump cycling on and off now? How frequently? If frequent, you probably have a leak someplace. Keep looking IMO.

Thanks,

Peter

Thanks Jose, sorry to hear about your folks. We have traveled that road, and it is good that you and your family are nearby to take care of them.

Agreed. The check valve is the pump. We always turn ours off when not in use. Last year it leaked from the city side so we replaced it with a SHURFLO 4008-101-A65 New 3.0 GPM RV Water Pump Revolution, 12V and an accumulator. Took <1 hour and is quieter and the accumulator is awesome when you just want to fill a glass or water or flush the toilet in the middle of the night.

Good afternoon. have any of you had to replace the convection microwave on your 20. We were on our first trip of the season and went to warm up some leftovers when the microwave quite working and smelled like something electrical was hot. Need some inside into the removal of the microwave. Not sure if it makes any difference but ours is a 2007 Safari.
Thanks
Jerry

I replaced mine last spring. It just quit no power. You can buy replacement at Camping World or Airstream. I had to use some compact foam to get the new unit to fit. You can buy that at JoAnn Fabric or Amazon.

Do you know off hand what brand the replacement microwave is. Seems that they no longer make the original equipment model from my 2007

Thanks
