Dealers meeting is happening this month, I don’t know the exact date, but sure we will soon find out what the future will bring. All I know is that a Globetrotter 23 FB Twin is for sure coming, maybe some others...

I think a 30' globetrotter would be totally awesome.

I will stick with my 2017 30' serenity though - it's problem free so if it ain't broke don't fix it right!

The web page for Airstream's "Fresh Air" newsletter has some photos of new models. They're somewhat blurred out, but you can make out some details.

1. The Globetrotter 23FB is definitely coming.

2. Perhaps a new model in the Sport range? The photo in the upper right appears to have a single axle, but the windows don't match up with the current Sport models.

3. Something's coming for the Basecamp, but I can't tell what.

Has anyone heard what is happening with the 19’ trailer models in 2020? If the Tommy Bahama is no longer being made - and the 19’ Serenity/Signature ended a year or 2 ago - will there be a 19’ other than the FLying Cloud?

Correct. No more Tommy Bahama trailers as their licensing contract expired. The Airstream Interstate Ext and 19 contract is still valid for a few more years so there will be TB Editions of those for 2020.

Back to the trailers, I saw some photos from the new line and it sure looks like a lot of nicer updates to the interior. But these were photos from the phone of the sales manager so I do not have them to share...

Hoping those photos and pdf brochures are out soon...

I heard from my dealer that the hatch on the TB and EB will be an option ($ in the thousands) on most of the trailers for 2020.

The Caravel in the video looks to be a 16-footer. Seems like that would be the Bambi.

Inside scoop...the Caravel line up is going to be the same as the Bambi line but will include the front rock guards, rear bumper and upscale interior/decor. It will cost around $12k more than the Bambi line. Also the term "Sport" is going away and therm term "Bambi" will be replacing it. There's more but I am sworn to secrecy...

:-)

delta between the two lines for the 22FB BAMBI/CARAVEL

from their AS site I see this as the delta between the two lines for the 22FB model

- both show 2x group 24 batteries, up from 1x from the Sport model

BAMBI
200lb more carry capacity
dual std sink in kitchen

CARAVEL
single wide sink in kitchen
3" longer
4" taller ext
3.5" taller inside
25 lb heavier hitch weight
200 lb heaver base weight
patio light
bumper
exhaust fan
2 extra speakers + 1 sub woofer
ducted AC
SS front stone guard

Bring Back the Longer 3-Axle Big Boys

That said, yes, I have a Classic. I love using it. It's a great trailer for us. I would never in 100 years pick this interior over something more Euro / modernl. Solid build approach - sure, that's good. Style ... not so much. Yes, I've had the same problem each time we go shopping for a new house.

Once the factory size effectively triples, I would think there will be some significant changes in the lineup. Again, that's likely next year, but ... maybe not. What would I like to see:

1) Bring back the three axle "big boys". You now have the space to build them again. With people full timing in these trailers, there *is* a market for "bigger". What if you actually have a family with "full sized" kids ?

2) Put the power chairs / sofa / decent seating in something smaller than the 30'. Call it whatever you like. Give people a comfortable place to relax.

3) Dump the dinette and replace it with a desk in something in the 27' vicinity. This seems to be the most common mod I see people doing. It makes a lot of sense in the modern world. Offer it as a factory option.

4) Do at least one model that has a real storage locker. There are people who have outdoor hobbies. A lot of them involve hauling "stuff" along. Saying that you pack it all in the tow is not a great answer.

There are a long list of fiddly little changes I would make. They really are not a "new model" sort of thing.

Bob

I'm with you, bring back the big 3-axle AS' and I am in. More options on how to build it out. Especially for full time.

Question the same kidde side bed on the smaller airstream

they both still have the same kidde size side bed. when is airstream realize they need to have either queen bed or dual twin bed with smaller bathroom. you spend 8 hours sleeping in a kidde bed, but spend a few minuted in a king size bathroom/shower room.

the larger bambi or caravelle 19 or 20 or 22 have room for larger bed if use the 16 bambi bathroom.

here is my proposed layout fore the 19'

Best Update I have seen yet...

https://www.airstream.com/blog/whats...avel-trailers/

This is the most comprehensive update I have seen so far. Lots of changes coming - most have been discussed to some extent.
