Our learning curve with this toy has been pretty steep. Very different than what I'm used to with motor coaches (Winegard or Wi-Fi Ranger).
Anyhow, you must first set up your accounts: AT&T one year subscription for $320 (Airstream will give you a rebate for this); ToGo account; register with Airstream. Once this is done, you must download the Airstream Smart Ap. With the ap you must scan the QR code on the inside cover of the box that houses the router. This will connect your phone to the system. In the smart ap, go the "more" tab and under network settings you will find the SSID and password.
Ours works great so for as an LTE hotspot. I have yet to try it as a WiFi extender. As for the smart control - ours does not work as there appears to be something wrong with the device that connects the Pepwave router to the CZone control. Corey at Airstream walked me through all of the basic troubleshooting to no avail. Taking it to the factory in March for them to work on it.
I would say that Airstream could do a much better job with the instructions. At this point, it appears that this is a bundled system with At&T. It is a bit gimmicky. After the first year, expect to pay an annual fee to use the Smart Ap along with the At&T data fee. Corey was not sure, but hopefully we will still be able to use the antennae and router as a Wi-Fi extender.
Good luck with it.
