Water regulators
Howdy from Santa Fe. Do any/all of you rely solely on the onboard water pressure regulator or do you use one at the pedestal to protect your hose.

My Camp Host gig at a UT State Park had variable pressure up to 100+ psi, so they strongly encouraged using one at the pedestal. Mine has a simple gage, but can go more or less complex.

Hi
Anything over 120 PSI is getting into the "yikes!!!" category. Your beat up old hose may or may not be happy with a 150 psi water source. There's also not a lot of reason for them to be running that sort of pressure.
If the campground is running 40 PSI water, you want every ounce of pressure they are supplying. Each reducer you have inline will drop the pressure a bit, even if it is below the regulation point.
It very much turns into a "that depends" sort of thing. So far for us, the internal regulator has done just fine.

Using an adjustable at the faucet. It's not to protect the hose, but rather to insure the delivery pressure to the coach is controlled. Will install an on-board adjustable regulator and accumulator tank in the future, but the outboard works for now. Pat

Hi
I believe that the Classics all come with onboard pressure regulators these days.

We have just used onboard. We took the outside one off the spigot in order to increase the pressure which was around 40 psi, but have kept it to check before hooking it up.

If you have a location with very low pressure (Or erratic pressure) you can fill your fresh water tank and eliminate the problem.
