Touch Faucet

Has anyone tried putting in a touch faucet in the kitchen?
Have it at home and love it. Just curious.

Not I. Our faucet works great. Maybe when we need to replace it or decide to remodel, we may consider an option like that to elevate our space.

Nice in a home. Consider traveling, and leaving the water pump on by accident. A loose towel smacks the touch handle... and let the cussun' commence.
Leave the shower set on drip and go 30 miles into the woods. And when you arrive at your primitive campsite - the white tank and black tank are empty, but the gray is full. Drip, drip, down the shower drain. SOMEONE has to unhitch the truck, empty out the bed or back seat and buy gallons (30+?) Of drinking water OR use a water bladder to carry white water back to the trailer.
Then accidently let the full gray tank trickle onto the ground because SOMEONE was coming back with enough water to allow you all to stay 4 days or so....
Short answer a high faucet is fine (mind the upper cabinet height) but unless you can LOCK off a high-tech faucet - don't use one in a trayla!!!

Leading edge (like Alde) should be called "bleeding-edge" in any RV.

Paula

Oh if you do want to dump PRISTINE gray water, empty and rinse the tank 2 to 4 times, then put in 5 gallons of white water and 1-2 tablespoons of bleach and after filling the white tank, and cleansing the black tank drive to a truck stop on your route and empty both the gray and black tanks and carry on.

Find 30 gallons of absolutely clean gray water...do not use a slinky. Too obvious. A SEWER SOLUTION..can hide in tall grass or work at midnight. Check it out and apply your brain.

If gray water is permitted to dump use bucket or slinky if can get close to a tree instead of wasting on ground.

I'm not sure that I'd trust a touch faucet in a trailer. We almost always shut the pump off and depressurize the lines before traveling but not always.

Re: grey water issues, Valterra makes a cover for the black & grey discharge that replaces the original cover/seal with one that has a garden hose male connector located at the bottom of the cover, when installed as such.

I have no idea of why it's made that way because black water wouldn't be able to properly drain through such a small hole, even if run through a macerator, however...it's available??.

Tree root balls are as big as the leaf canopy above. Not so palms.

Touch Faucet?

Maybe work on keeping the sink in place and stopping leaks first. 😂

We have one in our kitchen at home, but I don’t think I want one in the airstream.

Bad idea....don't do it.

Save that kind of coolness for a fixed home.....not a mobile one.....you'll thank us later.

With your stock kitchen faucet you have the option of opening the tap a little or all the way. This is important when boondocking or dry camping when you are trying to conserve water. Does a touch faucet have this capability or does it open all the way? I assume all the way based on ones I've seen.

Also, I've seen where these units open up when the batteries die. The faucet just runs and runs. If the unit you're considering does this then that would be a bad thing if it happens when you're not there. Your gray water tank could fill up and overflow.

Doesn't seem like a good idea.
