Torxlift hitch

Hello,

I’m wondering if anyone has installed a torxlift hitch on a 30’ Classic? We ordered a new Classic and are having the 3” lift added; the clearance is there. We want the options for a bike rack or a small swivel out grill mount. The torxlift looks like one of the best options.

Thank you

Adding something like that to an Airstream will likely void the chassis warranty, and any repairs needed will be out of your pocket. There is a reason Airstream only approves an expensive bike rack that does not transfer all its weight to the frame of the trailer.

If you stick to very light loads the Airstream will do fine. The trouble comes in if you get rear ended or any number of other extending circumstances. This is why Airstream has never offered an option like this. Airstream has never beefed up the frame more than a couple feet beyond the rear axle primarily because they don't want to encourage customers from adding too much load back there which will destabilize the trailer in emergency maneuvers. So proceed with caution.....
