Time to upgrade Alde!

After replacing our alde flow twice in the last two months, our 3010 unit is now leaking from the internals somewhere.

Sounds like our only option is to upgrade from a 3010 to a 3020, has anyone done this?

We full time so I am trying to get an idea of what the scope of work will be and if I need to look for an Airbnb for temporary accommodations when work is done. If new wires need to be ran to the control panel, this may even be a good time to move the control panel from under the sink to maybe hidden behind the television since our firefly is still integrated???

I guess my next question then will end up being if anyone else has experienced troubles with the system and leaks. Iím beginning to think this may be a larger issue connected to the recall from earlier last year and deteriorating internals?

Just looking to start dialogue. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

We upgraded our Adle 3010 to a 3020 with Alde Flow and it took one day to complete the upgrade.

Awesome. Did they have to relocate your control panel?

Hope itís not too forward to ask what the total price was (ballpark is fine). Iím going through Truma direct vs an airstream dealer

Thanks. I talked with Truma today and they said they will need to relocate my panel as I have one of the original 2018 models with the panel under the sink. They also said the 3020 doesnít communicate with the firefly, so will need access to it.

Problem is we just installed solar and all of our control boards are on that wall. Need to find a place for the alde control now...

Alde 3020

We had ours replaced by Spencer in Indiana 2 years ago. Just moved the new panel next to the outside of kitchen cabinet next to the firefly panel thaw there now. Not as convenient but handy and I wanted it disconnected from the firefly like the new models are

Recall?

We have a 2017 Classic with the Alde 3010. I had not heard of a recall; I have not received any recall notifications.

Can someone provide some info on this recall, what models/serial numbers were impacted, contact info, etc.?

If the 3010 is experiencing that many problems, might be time to upgrade to the 3020.

The only "recall" was the free change of fluid. I have a 3010 with Alde Flow that has worked faultlessly since we bought our 2018 30' Classic. I did have the control panel moved to the door side near the FireFly panel. Makes a great night lite for the front of the trailer.

Quick update for all:

Truma has company owned service centers in IN, TX, and FL. We happen to be in FL, so we will be heading there. Two weeks out on their schedule so they are able to get us in fairly quickly (beginning of March).

Truma only could commit to looking at the unit once work is done to see if they can find advanced deterioration and they may cover under warranty. This is regardless of the fluid recall and us experiencing of previous leaks in our Alde flow (twice in two different units over the last two months). This is fair though.

They did say that if they cover under warranty, they will want the entire system changed out including all of the lines throughout the trailer to ensure itís a fresh start and wonít happen again. This would be a JC or dealer task in my opinion if it comes to this.

I love this system when it works. Itís a bummer when it doesnít work though. Thankful to be in Florida for the winter.

I really enjoy my Alde system so following in case mine does go south on the future. So far so good though and the quiet even heating is a large improvement over my old furnace in my SOB.

Sorry about your situation but what are you going to do with the old unit?

Well, I went from a 1986 Sovereign with a Dometic RM 2820 refrigerator that was manually operated (switch from AC to propane with a knob, hold another knob in for 15-30 seconds to light propane...) to a 2008 Safari that has a reefer that switches automatically from AC to propane and back. Very handy when you are away from you campsite and the power goes out...

I guess only unit gets recycled? 3010 unit is leaking and they donít rebuild them anymore.

There is a main control board in there I wouldn't mind having. Of course they don't the old units, sell them a new one! In a throw away environment I'm learning to be a junkman. Let me know if you can get that, or maybe the whole unit.

Good point on the control board. Are you in FL? I can ask to keep it all if you want it but you gotta come get it if I hold onto it
