Soft Close Drawer Sliders

I am starting my search for honey do list items and one of the requests was to change all the drawer sliders to heavy duty residential sliders that soft close.

I tried searching google and the forum but a lot of options come up. Hope that someone on here as experience with an upgrade like this?

Thanks in advance for sharing.

BSWG,
I am a furniture builder. Amazon is your friend

Soft close drawer slides are, generally, slightly thicker than their less exotic cousins. There are many brands and dimensions vary. In your case, the length of the slide is the easy part unless you want to rebuild all your drawers. Slide dimensions look like "Side-mounted Steel ball-bearing action.100 LB capacity.20'' in length.1.77'' in width.0.5'' in thickness." You probably don't need to match the width, also labeled as height sometimes.

I suggest you use Amazon, only order returnable items, try a few different brands styles until you find a brand that is the same thickness as your current slides. Search for soft-close drawer slides.

If the slide is even a 32nd of an inch thicker (a sixteenth for two slides), the drawer will bind and the soft-close won't function.

Heavier duty slides are not automatically better. Don't buy 100# capacity if you only need 75#. Make sure to buy full extension if that is what you are replacing else the drawer won't fully open.

Wow. Thanks for the tips. I’ll check it out, seems like I may be able to decipher the labeling with your tips. Thanks again

soft close slides are nice, but they will open when you drive unless you find a way to lock them shut for travel.
