Raising or lowering bed with Czone???

Hi All,
I'm picking up a 2019 Classic 33fb next week. I don't recall seeing a way to lower/raise the bed from the Czone system or on the bedroom wall by the door. The only switch I noticed was the one directly above the bed.

From videos, it looks like the previous Firefly system had a control on the bedroom wall to do this.

Can anyone with a 2019 confirm if there is another way to do this (other than the switch above the bed)?

Also, It looked like the previous Firefly system allowed for lowering the table from the panel. Again, it seems like the Czone panel doesn't offer this and the only option is a switch by the entry door? Am I missing something?

Thanks!

Sean

Hi Sean. I have a ‘19 30 Classic and it has a few bed switches on the walls by both night stands and by the TV/main bedroom wall controls. The CZone doesn’t have a setting that I’ve seen. Enjoy her!

Thanks. I didn't see one by the TV/main bedroom wall controls. Is it the switch that is circled in this picture?

On the twin, there is also a switch on each wall next to the USB plugs. Right where you need it. It is under the window boxes and sometimes hard to use as they are not that visible.

Thanks for the replies. Its very helpful.

Here is a picture I took of the unit that I'm purchasing. Strangely, it is missing the wall switch to raise the bed (I've seen other pics online that show the switch next to the panel). It seems like an important switch to have because with the queen model you need to raise the bed to get around it and don't want to have to climb to the front of the bed to get to the other switch.

I'll check with my dealer to see whats up. The unit also was missing other 2019 items such as the third solar panel and blind over the bedroom vent.

The dealer is now telling me I can only have one switch to control the bed. It can be on the wall by the door or above the bed. The story is that the unit I'm buying is an early 2019 and the model has been evolving.

I don't get this. The 2017, 2018 and any 2019 I can find all had the ability to control the bed from both locations. That way you can raise the bed when you come in the room to create more space at the end of the bed to get around it. Then when you are in bed you can lower the bed.

Can anyone with a 33FB Queen tell me how often they use both switches or what they typically use?

Thanks!

You’ll only need one switch. I would prefer the one on the wall vs under the cabinet personally. The motor doesn’t seem efficient enough to raise and lower the bed with two people in it. We broke the bracket that holds the bed in place early on in the airstreams life by raising and lower the bed every day. Now it’s rare that we raise it at all. We full time and make our bed daily in a 2018 classic 30

Thanks for this. Very Helpful. Its a bigger concern in the 33fb because there is less space at the end of the bed to get by. But, if the motor doesn't want to operate when people are on the bed, I agree it makes more sense to have a switch on the wall.

Sean,

I have a 2019 33 FB with a queen. I have two switches to control the bed. There is a switch on the wall and next to the passenger side night stand. Nothing on the CZone. Also, it is a tight fit, but you can get around to the side when the bed lowered. This Airstream is absolutely amazing...enjoy!

I guess you are SOL on the solar panels also! No third panel and possibly no Victron MTTP controller with upgraded wiring would be a significant difference over the current models solar.

The dealer is adding a third panel. There is a Victron display above the kitchen counter. Did the classics only use MTTP controllers with Victron?

I believe that is true.

Hmmm I took delivery of my 2019 Classic 33 Twin and There are rocker switches on the closet walls left side beside He Polk audio and right above the tv. There are also rocker switches outboard both beds next to the usb plug. I don’t use that usb as it’s in a stupid location, roll over at night and chop it off or strangle myself.
Note. Have the dealer run the Heating system a long a time before you take delivery. Lots of air in the system that needs to be bled out.. googLe Alde mixing valve setting instructions and crank up the heat as you will not have a hot shower until you do. The dealer will not do this as liability if you scald yourself. You will need a system when you get up or get home for the hot water boost. Me? I get up turn on the coffee pot and bump up the Hot water boost. Runs for 20 minutes then shuts off. Before I shower I boost it again. I run on gas and electric, don’t have to bet sure heats faster.
The upper cabinet right of the couch is where my modem, cable box and x box are located, I disconnected the light and leave that open to dissipate the heat. power shades are a pain in the ass, one of mine are broken already.
Hope this helps .

We have an early model 2019 Classic with the short-queen bed. There is a switch on the wall next to the stereo and lights and other one next to the bed above the side tables but just on one side of the bed. We also have three solar panels and all. Your configuration is indeed different.

Thanks for the replies. The dealer has now said they are adding a second switch for the bed controls and fixing several other deficiencies (including the missing solar panel). I just hope I'm not getting a lemon that was put together in haste on a Friday afternoon before a long weekend. I trust my dealer and know they are doing everything possible to make sure my unit is perfect. I'll be sleeping over at the dealership when I take delivery to check and test as much as I can.
