Queen bed won’t incline

Our bed is stuck in down position. It will not respond to either switch. I verified voltage to motor. I removed the motor from the bed, still no response.
I did notice the aluminum cross member bed is connected to is bent.
Any suggestion?

So motor isn’t running even when removed from the bed? Or you removed the weight from your frame and motor still didn’t work?

Do the switches have power?

We switched our mattress and the heavier load no longer allows the motor to lift it.

There is power. Meter shows 13 VDC. I removed the entire unit and no response.

2021 classic? You should still be covered under warranty. Maybe make this the dealers problem?

The bars are bent on EVERY classic I have seen

Amazon has a similar actuator, roughly $20 each.

Or buy from dealer for some $$$, last I heard, was $700

I had this issue a while back in the up position. I took everything off and finally tried flipping the breaker a couple times. Not sure why, but it started working again. It seems like it always struggled a bit with the motor too small or all my wife’s pillows are too heavy. LOL!

Buy on Amazon

I replaced my actuator with one I ordered from Amazon. Just make sure the stroke length matches the length from the one your are replacing. I bought a spare and they were approximately $45.

This happened to us, trying to operate both switches at the same time. The fuse blew. I know you said you read 13V, but figured I'd share.

I have had two issues with the bed. The first was that one of the screws holding the track to the bed frame backed out a little and the bed would catch on it and not go down... The second was that the rocker switch next to the bed broke and didn't return to the center... so the next time I used the switch on the wall, it blew the fuze.

Following.
Ours is broken. Queen bed. Motor works but left side of track the slide with the little wheels came all the way out of the track and somehow bent.
Not sure it’s worth the fix.
Amazon has a wedge pillow that’s working pretty good.

Our bed stopped actuating in the down direction. It goes up on the motor, but there is no reaction to the down command. I could not see any evident damage and the wiring up to the point that it disappears behind the paneling looks good. In our 2018 30 Classic there are two operating positions - one at the bed and one on the wall - both do the same so it is not the button. I cannot find any info on this bed lift system but the motor is as shown in the photos attached to this case. What did you do to fix your issue and would you please provide me with your info. Thanks.

THE FIX?
Well, Lippert can sell us a new unit for $1300.00. They bought the company that manufactures these motorized screw lifting systems.
So. When I get in one place for a while I am going to make up a 12v power source and take it apart again and test the two switches and then replace the bad switch.
I sent an email to the manufacturer but haven’t heard back.
The unit is available from Lippert and Airstream.

Dude, look at bcoffel's post above.

It's the actuator.

Thanks Crackerman. Bcoffel, can you please provide the info for the replacement actuator from Amazon? I suspect that our issue is a wiring connection but so far I can't find anything loose or for that matter where the up and down wires terminate at a relay or 12v source. If anyone has more circuit info for this bed tilt system please provide. Thanks.

Test first then purchase

Please test you existing actuator with a 12v source to see if it bad. I have a 20’ long cable with alligator clips on both ends that I run from the 12 v source such as a car or motorcycle battery to what I am testing in the rig. I used it in this case as well as with the automatic awning.

If it is bad, search for 12v actuators on Amazon and purchase one that has the same arm length as the bad one. You will need to modify it, I had to make the holes wider on both ends of the replacement actuator and I beveled it as well to make it work. You might find the motor is not positioned the same as the existing, I had to position the replacement actuator down towards the floor.

Does anyone know what the exact stroke length is for this?

Thanks

Can anyone please post the exact replacement available on Amazon? There are many to choose from.

Thanks
