Ordered 2017 Classic Twin

We ordered a 2017 Classic Twin today from Bayarea Airstream in Fairfield and we are very excited!
They have the model in another store so it should be here in a couple of weeks.
Thanks to the people on the forum for answering questions and helping me to make decisions. I have contacted Lewster about a solar/inverter/ lithium battery setup too.
My question tonight is for those who have added the electrical upgrade, where did you put it?
Lewster is proposing the Magnum inverter and 400 AMP lithium batteries? Can they go in battery box? Can they be split up? Where did you put the inverter. Any and all thoughts are appreciated!
Thanks for your help and I'll send pictures to make it real!
Best,
SS

The batteries should be no issue fitting in the box as a replacement for those there.

The inverter you have is under the sink, there is a large drawer that sits just to the left of the convection oven, it pulls out, then down on your hands and knees the inverter is back in there. Should be plenty of room for Lewsters replacement recommendation.

Enjoy.

Can the Lithium batteries be stored in the outside battery box?
If there is not enough room can they be separated and stored in a separate location?
Thanks,
SS

It is generally recommended to install Lithium batteries inside as the inside of the trailer will be warm, if you are using it, when it is freezing outside. If you chat with Lewster, I am sure he can tell you where he has installed them in your size trailer.

I agree with Isbrodsky, however, I only run two batteries, as we seldom boondock and just don't need the juice. Isbrodsky recommendation on Lewster is a good one in my opinion.

Congrats on your choice. I have no doubt you will love your new 2017 Classic as much as I am loving mine. I remember you had questions about the bed options, Which bed do you decide to go with? Which decor option did you choose? Got any ideas on your first trip? Hope you have many, many happy years.

Thanks for your well wishes! Twin with the maple, chestnut and light counters.
Depending on arrival date, desert of California and bike ride in Solvang. If later, North Coast of CA.
Best,
SS

Is there any way to get a 2017 Classic with the "older style" fold-flat soda instead of the twin recliners?

Congrats. You purchased your AS at the best dealer that I have visited. Bought my Classic there last year.

JamesAllen:

I would doubt it, but it never hurts to ask. Airstream as done so different things for folks and after you buy any airstream there are third party companies that can do virtually anything and the factory will make modifications. Bud, configuration of the wiring from the battery is in the center and is covered by a pop out section of this couch and our solar controller is in there as well. These are not actual recliners, the are couches with adjustable electric foot rests. The backs do not move.

After our lengthy trip if we don't like the couch we have I may take it out and put in actual recliners, which I've done three other times in Airstreams we have owned. However, so far these are pretty comfortable.
