New 2017 Airstream Classic 33 Queen

I wondered whether the weight of the items in the bathroom at the rear might make an interesting towing experience for a 33' trailer.

I think the valences on the windows cut quite a bit of elbow room in the dinette.

I was not real sure *I* would want to sleep with that aux control thingy right above my head, with all the blue light from the switches.

The mid-section seats did not feel all that comfortable, to me. And, the projection screen lamp was pretty warm. Oddly, the TV picture seemed too large, relative to the viewing distance, for me. As in, the first thing I'd probably do is dump the projector and screen for a good 42" smart LED TV.

The 'desk' seemed kind of pointless to me; I 'work' from the dinette and don't feel the need for a separate 'work' area.

The shower was three people big, which is cool, but seemed kind of a waste of space.

I don't mean to say it wasn't very very nice, but I'd be kind of scratching my head as to why I would opt for a 33 model given what you get in a 30' Classic, at this price point.

New 2017 Airstream Classic 33 Queen

I just saw the 33 Classic Queen in person at the Florida RV Supershow.

Nothing beats seeing them in person. Nothing. No matter how many videos you see, that doesn't replace the experience of actually setting foot in one.

I didn't like it.

First, the 80s called. They want their projection TV back.

The bathroom is impressive. Not sure I'd like to give up that much space for something used so infrequently. And I would have preferred to have the bathroom in the front and the bedroom in the back. When you have to go, you have to go.

It is for sure a beautiful Airstream. No question. I just didn't like it. YMMV.

New 2017 Classic 33 Queen

We saw it at the Tampa show and loved it. We currently have a 2015 Classic we made a deal and ordered a new one at the show. While we were there 2 other people were also buying the new model.

In my opinion this new trailer has moved AS up a notch to a luxury Classic.

What would make the '33 more luxury than the '30, when they pretty much have identical appointments? A larger shower? I'd give up a larger shower with no seat for a smaller shower with seat and many more windows any day of the week.

No quarrel from me, but my wife is drooling over the huge shower and bath area. It may be a downside to some but it's a huge upside to her. I'm looking forward to seeing one soon in person.

The above post was meant in response to the 30 ft classic being the best layout ever.

Bummer about tandem versus tridem axle. The latter means lower TW and better tracking. A widebody 34' was pretty much the coolest TT I've ever seen rolling the roads.

The basic impression I have is that is a TT for those spending a majority of time indoors as fulltimers. The demands of work. And nicely done for such.

Why bother with driving a box truck motorhome when with this and a suitably "cool" TV, that four star restaurant is an easy drive when a contract renews or a sale closes.

Anyone else notice that the $300k mohos are pulling toads in no way worthy of the total investment. Why bother?

Mohos suck to drive and, hey, over the weekend you get to run around in a Hertz economy car!!

There are few things I like about the '17 33 Classic, mainly the bathroom but I will stick with my new 30 for the windows, rear bedroom, mid kitchen, well, basically the whole floor plan works better for me. If I had added 3 feet to mine I would have put in a bigger shower right where the current one is and added another closet on the opposite side and just a touch room room in the living area but they didn't ask me.

If they took the 30' floorplan and added one foot to the living/couch area and two feet to the storage/shower/bath area and added electric shades, I would find it very hard to resist the upgrade. The new 33' plan doesn't do anything for me.

Has anyone out there taken delivery of a 33 classic yet? If so, what are your thoughts?

I just spoke with a sales rep at Haydocy in Ohio, and he told me that the 33's are running behind in production, so the "next run available" will be in late spring and carry a 2018 designation.

Anyone know any more on this?

My dealer told me they are moving the axle's on the 33's to reduce the tongue weight.

As I recall, the tongue weight on the spec sheet is 1182lb and was one of my initial concerns. That's a big number.

Ditto, x2, on the windows and I'm 6'6". I've come to really like sitting down in the shower, and my wife cleaned the whole thing in a couple minutes the other day. Large shower stalls are cold, drafty, and with the regulated water flow and typical Alde temperature / duration, you can have that big underutilized bathroom space. It'll be okay in warm or hot camping, but cold outside will be cool inside showing, sitting, and sinking. Maybe Camco could develop a shower spray resistant space heater.

Has anyone heard any news on the reasons for the classic 33 delay?

Hello Justin,

It would be nice if you would replace the sink in the 30' Classic with the bowl sink from the 33'. It would allow more storage underneath and be easier to clean.

Take 3 Basecamps and smash 'em together and you get....

The dealer I spoke with stated that there were production issues. Seems like the 2 million Basecamps that are flooding dealers are using too much manpower!!!

Good news, I heard the 33 Classics are getting a 4 gallon Alde, so your showers will be a bit longer, but still cold in that giant shower at 1 gallon a minute [emoji6]
