Kitchen Drawer removal 2018

Ok, I give up.

I’d like to clean out behind the drawers in the kitchen galley. On the bottom of the drawer there are two larger orange levers and two small gray slider buttons.

I still can not figure out how to get the drawers to release from the slides.

Any suggestions.

Squeeze orange guy towards white guy and pull with light pressure. That’s all mine took.

The orange lever unlocks the front of the drawer, and then it slides a bit forward and then lifts out easily. At the rear of each of the drawer slides is a pin that fits into a drilled hole in the back of the drawer. These can sometimes be a bit fiddly to line up when you re-install the drawer. Be gentle with it.

The gray slider part is for fine-tuning the drawer height at the front, it slides fore and aft in the track under the orange lever about 3/4 of an inch or so and levers the front edge of the drawer up and down a total of about 1/4 inch.

Those are high-quality drawer slides, by the way. They also make a 'soft-close' version if you ever decide you need that feature.

DW loves the fact that you can't slam a drawer by accident in her home kitchen... I added slide-out storage trays to the lower cabinets in the island using the 'soft close' slides. Peace and quiet. The doors have similar gadgets added to prevent slams as well.
