I知 here to think outside the box

First of all I love the classic,...

Cause,... it痴 a classic,...

I知 not a full timer,....

I camp maybe 6 times a season... my wife and are full time workers.

The classic rocks so warm and comfortable,...

I would love to see a classic with the new Glibetrootter trim level..

Simple Clean cool lines with all of the comfort of the classic

With a twin option,...

Take your intown space,.... out,....

Classic Urban,...

I think it壇 What do you think?

We saw the new Globetrotter recently and it certainly looks good - clean, modern lines on the cabinets. We've often wondered why the Classic always comes out looking like Grandma's House so we too desire a Classic (or near Classic) with an interior design more hip and modern than your typical all-wood cabinet design.

Having recently seen the Globetrotter in person we can say it looks good but is not practical. The overhead cabinets are very hard to use. They have such a blind spot as a result of the odd curve on the lower, front of the cabinet that Airstream installed a mirror in the back of each overhead bin so you can see all the items that are out of view otherwise. Looks great but the implementation is a bit lacking.

But we're still in favor of a Classic with modern styling. Is Airstream listening?

Love the Classic just the way it is, beacause it's a Classic.
Comfortable and stylish.
If you want that new age look, buy a Base Camp and park it next to your Yurt.

I am very happy with my 1999 Classic Oak cabinets and tons of storage. I just update the rest of the trailer around all that wonderful wood.

This is not grandma's!

I知 in total agreement that Airstream needs to come out with models that go back to a super clean, modern esthetic. The original International CCD痴 did but since then Airstream has gone too soft and typical RV decor. The International Steriling was cool other then the funky floor colors they chose. The current International Signatures were pulled even further from the modern end of design when they changed the upper cabinets to the cream colored laminate (they should have changed the counter tops to white instead). The best looking interiors are in the European models and the Sport. I was hoping the Globetrotter would be a lot more appealing then it is. The upper cabinets just don稚 look right, especially to the sliding plex doors on the Signatures.

There are lots of options for folks that want a new Airstream with a more traditional interior (Classics, Flying Clouds, etc.). However, for those of us that don稚 want brushed nickel hardware and brown everything, we are currently out of luck. Very frustrating since I would buy a new trailer in a heartbeat if they would come up with something more appealing then what I currently have (I want to do a ton of upgrades and would rather start with a new trailer at this point).

Airstream, are you listening?

We love our 2009 Classic and the hickory wood. However we did not like the "inside a coffin" look with all those white curtains drawn. We removed all valances, headboard, and white curtains. Had new colorful curtains made for the back window and front pano window, which involved extending the tracks. Got rid of the upholstery on the back of the dinette and replaced with beadboard. We really like the look now. A Classic that is more uncluttered.

Also removed all carpet and replaced floor with vinyl plank. Couch is gone and recliners on order!

Tough to call the exterior modern since its been around for quite some time. Original or unique perhaps.

But another vote for leaving the Classic as a classic. A few tweaks or upgrades in new model years will fit it nicely.

To each his own.

My 18 classic is amazing. I did say outloud to my wife that if the globetrotter existed when we ordered our classic that it may have made me go to the globetrotter. Only downside is the globetrotter isn稚 a 30 but the price is still comparable to a classic.

Glad I stuck with the classic. As needed and beautiful the globetrotter is, I know my wife and I made a great decision with the classic. Although it may look like 堵randmas house it痴 timeless with the 18 build and will last for the next generation to enjoy.

I don't remember Grandma's house having raised panel doors, granite countertops, touch screen drapes, and flat panel TV's.

It was more like doilies on everything, and an odd smell like dusting powder.

I agree someone has to rip the routers away from the cabinet makers. I love the new Classic 34 bathrooms - the window trim seems way too thick to hide the mechanisms - must be a better way to do that.
A Classic with Globetrotter style would be a nice 'tweener.
