Hot water draining issue ....

Good morning all ....

I have a 2017 Classic J, we have enjoyed this comfortable unit 5 times since purchasing new. I am in Wisconsin on a trip and have experienced an issue with water drainage under the hot water heater.

What I am experiencing is when I hook up the city water, water starts to drip from the white tube under their heater, nothing from the red tube.

All valves appear to be turned on and off approximately, since I have not touch either of them since our last trip when we did not have this issue.

Any answers, I have called my dealer and they are puzzled also.

Thanks in advance

Jed

The boiler safety valve discharges through the red line, and potable water lines in the area drain through that white line. Cycle the 1/4 turn drain valve under pressure to try flush. Doesn't leak with pump, maybe due to lower pressure. Your built in regulator for city water supposedly set for 60 psi. How's the difference at the tap for city vs pump?

Lots of good info on the 17 Alde system in Much To Do About Alde.

Cheers, James

As Bud stated in one of his responses, the Alde system hot water heater build up some pressure when on all the time. additionally, for the system to function at its best there needs to be an air pocket in the tank. Over time this pocket goes away. The solution is to open the pressure valve about once a week and let all the water in the tank drain. Make sure that all incoming water is OFF. Open the drain valve under the dinette, drain water, close everything back up and turn water back on. No more leaking under trailer.

When parked in one place for a while I have found that the once per month draining is not sufficient. I drain, when I think of it, about once every ten days. Simply turn off the campground water and drain the trailer. Turn water back on and that is it.
