Grease on leather couch

FAAK! I sat down on my leather couch with Equalizer hitch grease on my pants. (Supposedly scotch guarded by dealer)

Any one know of a magic potion to get this off??

I've had good luck with tub-o'-towels or the more extreme is Brake Kleen just resist the urge to rub. Good Luck.

Maybe just good ole Dawn dish soap?? I would dab some on an inconspicuous spot first to see what happens.

This may be a weird idea, but you might see if there is a underside or very inconspicuous area to test the cleaner on the leather first, before you do anything.

I would also maybe try to put some of that equalizer lube on a rag and then test some of these cleaners to see how they react.

goof off/goo gone

Ultraleather is a fancy name for textured vinyl. That stuff is indestructible. Use any household grease cutting detergent you want. The material will not fade, and you'll have to do a lot to even scuff the surface.

Goop hand degreaser is the most effective on wax and grease in fabric that I have ever found. Goop works better than the other popular brands like Go-Joe etc.

Try Super Clean degreaser. https://superclean.com/products/supe...ner-degreaser/ Learned about this stuff from an auto detailer. Took greasy fingerprints out of my truck’s headliner instantly.

My favorite for grease on anything is "Clean Streak". It's made for cleaning bicycle parts but I've used it everything.

All of those options are nice, but none of them beat Goop on fabric. Purple power however gets close.

This is what our owner's manual says about cleaning Ultrafabrics: "Use alcohol based cleaners such as Fantastick® or Formula 409®. For stubborn stains, wipe the stain off with isopropyl (rubbing alcohol) as soon as possible. Thoroughly rinse all solution residue with clean water and let air dry."

I use Guardsman Clean & Renew Wipes for Leather. They've worked great for grease spots. Also the protect & preserve after cleaning. $7.99 on amazon.

Simple Green, Spray on your rag, wipe on and wipe off. Don’t let it sit or the green color will transfer. And I’d rinse with a towel with water and dry after.

Anna Belle33..........Whenever I get the hitch grease on my pants I use the Coleman fuel that is used in their stoves and lanterns to clean it off. It always does the job. Make sure you test it our before using on on your leather.

Airstream swears by SD20 Degreaser for everything dirty. It even works on mouse fur. I have used hair spray to remove ball point ink from leather.

+2 on Goop hand cleaner. Co-worker had a leather skirt she borrowed from her daughter and after a high-end dry cleaner couldn't get a ballpoint pen mark off, got her to try it. Lifted off overnight. It also works a lot better than Spray and Wash and those other pre-wash sprays that don't do much for dirt, grease and grass stains.

Alcohol is what my FC manual said to use on ultraleather.
