Frosty Fridge

We have a 2018 30’ Classic with the Dometic refrigerator. The problem is it frosts up quickly and I have to defrost every two weeks. We’ve tried moving the temperature slide per the recommendation of our dealer. Didn’t work. I’ve set the temperature level at 5 and the visible temperature in the outside display ends up at 32. If I put it at 4 it will go to 37-40. Frequently ice cycles are on the coils and melt with water all over the appliance floor. Help. Any suggestions?

Unlike home units, Dometic refrigerators are not self-defrosting. Ice/frost build up will be quicker if you are in a humid location and open the door often - or if the door is not closed tightly. In the summer, I usually have to defrost the fridge and freezer every few weeks to keep it operating efficiently.

You can try opening the door less, but that's not really a practical solution in my experience. The Fridge Fix fan, or similar device, will fix the problem entirely. Circulates air across the coils continuously, no frost in the fridge ever. As an added plus, no more warm spots either. I still have to defrost the freezer every six months or so, but never the fridge.
