Equalizer WD hitch

Just traded 2015 FC 28 for 2018 Classic 33. Have Pro Pride on the 2015 FC but will have to switch to a conventional WD hitch. Dealer recommending Equalizer. TV is 2015 Chevy HD 2500, Duramax. Is the Equalizer a good choice for my total package?

I love my pro pride on the 17 classic with my RAM. Why ditch the pro pride?

I'm no expert on hitches but I've used the Equalizer WD hitch on various trailers, one being a 36' pulled by a F-250 and it worked great. I currently use it on my 25' Airstream.

The new classic has its primary storage bin in front of trailer. The ProPride towers block access to this storage compartment

Seems Sean at PPP had some new ratchet strap devices for the bars. Might be a solution?

I towed my Safari 25 and my Classic 30 Slideout (9100#) with Equalizers. I used a 10,000# version on the Safari because that's what came with it when I bought it and traded for a 12,000# unit for the Classic on Equalizer's recommendation. I never had any incidences of sway or significant pushing from passing traffic in either case. I now have a ProPride mostly because it is easier to handle and store when not towing. I also feel it would be more predictable in an emergency maneuver but that remains to be seen given the "Hensley Bump".

Keep the ProPride

If the jacks are a problem, this is the solution. https://www.propridehitch.com/lipper...echnology-kit/

Yes to the Equalizer question. I have used one on two different 30' AS including our 2017 Classic and tow with an F350 Diesel.

Never gave it much thought but getting to that storage area is gonna be a bear no matter what hitch because the lp tanks are in the way as well.

Do NOT get rid of the PPP hitch, there is an effective solution, call and get the information.👍

POI....'hensley bump'...is not caused by a PPP hitch.
We've used one on two different TV's for 12yrs, correct set-up=no bump

Ditto...keep the ProPride and call Sean for the solution to your issue. You’ll be glad you did.

I use a Blue Ox. The cams don't interfere with anything above the frame. We did have to put a shorter bolt in the "Set Screw" position. The long ones conflicted with the battery box.

http://www.blueox.com/trailer-towing/swaypro/

Pulled the last trailer with one of these too. Weight was not a problem but it keeps it from swaying. Without it swaying occurred. Doesn't need that friction bar either. An added benefit is the insert/hitch projects a little over a foot past the bumper making it easy to lower the tail gate when the trailer is hooked up.

I have no issues with my Equalizer pulling a 30' Classic. Having F250 helps also.
