Cook Top Exhaust noise.

The cook top Exhaust Fan (when on) in our 2017 Classic is comparable to my Stihl chain saw w/o hearing protection, may be not quit but close. Have not taken DB reading yet. I am doing research on replacing the fan unit or the exhaust unit altogether. Are there others that have looked into this and/or replaced. If replaced what did you replace with? Fan only or complete unit? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Safe and happy travels.

Have you unfastened the tabs on the outside that hold the exhaust flap closed while driving? If fastened closed it makes quite a racket.

Some folks have had success with adding a resistor in series with the motor. Search "fan hood resistor". A general RV forum suggested this fix.

I haven't done this mod, but I can see that it wouldn't be very difficult to add a resistor to always slow down the fan, or add a resistor and switch to give you to option of two speeds. Most folks seem to target 5 to 10 ohms. The resistors should probably be sized at 20 W.

Hi

I believe you will find that it's a high back pressure blower rather than a fan. It's not going to be easy to find a simple replacement.

My 2014 is much quite than my 2007 was. In the '07 I installed the aforementioned resistor, which helped a lot. The '14 is loud, but tolerable.

I installed one of these a couple years ago for the old style hood:

http://www.rvvent.com/fabulousoperatingproducts.htm

Super quiet, nice LED lights and draws a LOT more air. Not sure they make one for the Baraldi, might be worth a call. I used to think I wanted a Baraldi....not anymore!

Thumbs up

Our Hi-Tec exhaust noise suppression up-grade. When it gets lost in the slipstream, it's a very quick replacement.

Looks to be what I am looking for. Can be bought on Amazon. However I have yet to find true dimensions of the unit. Being you have installed one, could you supply true dimensions. Greatly appreciated.

To the rest of you that provided feed back. Thank you. Yes the exterior vent clips were opened. I like the "hi-tech" clothes pen set up.

Safe and happy travels.

I would suggest calling them. I have the older square hood. I have no idea if these fit a beraldi

Yes the SAM-1 will fit my 2017 Classic Baraldi hood. Thank you for the info and direction for the SAM-1.

Best regards and safe travels.
