I like to think I am more of a purist when it comes to my coffee. I am lucky enough to have a nearby roaster. So when camping I grind my own beans by hand in a Ledo grinder, heat my water to approximately 204 degrees (yes I carry an instant thermometer) add the beans and the water to a heated French press wait 3 minutes pour and enjoy.

As many have mention with little amounts of water, a paper towel, and it's handy to have a rubber glove so you can scoop the grounds out with your hand. Do it outside and/or over a garbage can/bag. Pretty quick and easy.

Aeropress.....
Simplicity. Whether a full cup or a knockoff shot. Clean up is beyond anything imagined. Just press the compressed coffee puck into the trash can. Done.

I may or may not have bought a specific coffee solution just for my trailer... even though it's nowhere near done. Anyways, Keurig machine. Have the option for K-cups if I want - not the best - and also have bought a stainless steel cup that I fill with my own coffee.
Cleanup and waste is simply washing out the used grounds. Done.

Camping needs real coffee. This is one step up from Army field coffee.

Agreed - bringing cafe gene roaster with us to roast every few days - the allio bullet stays at home. HAVE to have good coffee!

I have thought about trying roasting my own beans.
It’s worth it, apparently.

Unless you're camping at 7500-8000 feet altitude...then your water is boiling at 195-205°F.

I lived in a cabin at 9000’ for 3 years right before I sold it all for the trailer life. Couldn’t have gotten water to 205° if I’d wanted to!

SVTOTEM,
I've watched several of Kent's cowboy cooking videos. Good stuff.
We hit antique malls and look at almost every granite ware cowboy type coffee pots. Almost always rusted inside beyond consideration. We have seen two good 10qt? ones made by Vollrath and stenciled USN on the bottom. STREMN bought one of them.
My cowboy pot is an 11qt WearEver and I make it just a bit different than Kent. WOOD FIRE low boil, remove from heat, add grounds 1/2 at a time and STIR get them wet, return to heat and get that same slow roll off of the side of the pot it circulates the goods. 5-6 min later remove from heat and let it sit for a few minutes.
Line up the cups.
We've served it at Alumalina when it was a smaller GTG and it gets repeat "customers" and lots of stares and questions. And we had a very curious fellow camper that wanted to watch the process in the morning. He showed up and we went thru the entire task. His interest was beyond casual. He was living in NY but home was Kenya and his family had a coffee plantation. He gave our simple coffee a big smiling thumbs up and he made the next pot and spent the morning proudly serving it.
The fleet of non electric pots also includes two Enterprise Aluminum Drip-O-Lators https://www.massillonmuseum.org/236 a Guardian Ware, Kitchen Kraft and West Bend also. The West Bend is a 11 cup art deco looking pot that really looks like it goes with the trailer.
But the what is that award goes to a 1940's Cory Homestead all glass vacuum pot. It looks like a science lab experiment. And yes we have used it at home.
Gary

Totally worth it. Have to have shore power of course, but only need to roast every 3 days or so.

Here ya go. Get some green beans, roast the night before, enlighten the campground with the fresh aroma of coffee, store in a container overnight, in the morning grind and enjoy!
