Classic 33 in Texas Summers

We ordered our 2020 Classic 33 (selling our DP) and live in north Texas.

Any suggestions for preventing excessive heating of the trailer while in route, and then cooling the trailer quickly once at the camp site.

Thanks in advance.

North Texas is going to be rough in the summer in an Airstream. Close all the blinds, put up insulation pillows in the skylights and silver Reflectix in the vista view windows is about all you can do.

[emoji1489]+ get your trailer as cold as possible before driving. You will still end up with a rig that is in the 90s when you park. The good news is you have two ACs and on 50a service you can cool the trailer down in minutes

I was in San Antonio last summer. I too agree with the insulation pillows and reflectix ... was able to maintain 80ish inside (102 outside). Create shade with awnings as much as possible

Hi

Yes I realize this is unlikely .... If there is even a single tree near the campsite, park so it gives you some shade. It's amazing just how much even a very modest amount of "cover" helps cool the trailer down.

When you close the blinds - that means pull down the night shades. They do a significantly better job than the sort of transparent "day shades".
