Bathroom door latch 30’ Classic

On our Classic, the bathroom door just barely latches. I don’t see any movement in the casing (walls) around the door.

Is there any adjustment on the door latch (handle assembly)?

I tried to take it apart but without damaging anything, I could not figure out how to get the handle coverplates off. Handles have Allen screws but could not figure out the circular covers.

Hopefully someone will be along shortly to offer some advice. I’m no help at all.

If you have the handles off the latch, look around the coverplates carefully for a small notch or bent part of the metal. Use a plastic putty knife to gently pry off the notched coverplate to expose the screws.
If there is no notch, pry gently and see which cover plate pops off. Usually it’s the inside one.

Thanks for the reply. There is a small notch on the bottom of the circular cover plates. Seems to be a small plastic piece in the notch. I tried for 30 minutes, without getting too aggressive, and still could not get them off.

I’ll keep looking.

Bathroom door knob assembly, is that what you need help with? Or you’re talking about the actual cassette in the door with all of the mechanisms in there?

Hi. I can not remove the plate on either side of the door. Also, the mechanism within the door is where I believe the break occurred as there is a small hook (like a broken paper clip) that has popped out of the latch area. I’ve removed all visible screws and still cannot remove the plates nor reach the latch mechanism. Thank you.

Take a picture of what you still have on the door please.

Knob comes off with an Allen wrench and the plate pops off. Then you have the rod that just taps out and the entire mechanism in the dog slides out at that point.
