Gotta add my 2 cents. I have the 2017 with the black Corian countertops and light sofa and after 2 years of nearly daily use I love it. I would not change to anything else. Frankly I prefer to be able to actually see the dust or worse, dog hair, then to pretend it isn’t there. I use a damp cloth and follow with dry microfiber cloth and they are go to go. There are products on the market that will take the scratches out if you should get one but as long as you’re reasonably careful it should not be a problem.
I also have actual data that if you should get a scratch and you happen to go to JC for warranty repairs they do an excellent job of polishing out any scratches. I do a much better job of watching what I put on the counter now. I don’t know how to post pictures but like I said, after 2 years of constant use it still looks new.

We have 2018 Classic 30 with black counter tops. Would not do the black again. Had scratches on delivery, specialist ground/sanded etc them out. The black counter tops do show dust and multiple scratches.

We have the Cherry cabinets, beige seating and the black Corian tops. We love the look over the god awful light Corian countertops. They do scratch, so we use placemats and several dish drying mats. We have lived with it for 4 months and have given up looking for scratches. It is just fine. Eventually, you can polish the surface if it gets worse, but it still looks elegant as the Airstream photos and you have to look real close to see any scratches.
The alternative is to be constantly looking at the light old marble butt ugly corian all day long, well, you get the point. The black still looks better than the alternative, and remember, it also scratches!
We went with the dark tops and love them. Period.

We have Cherry cabinets, dark seating and the light Corian tops. We love the look over the black corian tops that look like they belong in a pimps love shack. We don't have to worry about place mats and we don't look for scatches because they don't show. We won't have to polish them if they get worse and it will always look elegant. The alternative is to be constantly looking at scratches and swirl marks forevever. The light still looks as good as the black and doesn't show scatches.
We went with the light tops and love them. Period.

That’s Funny, but in all seriousness that was kinda the stereotype that came to my mind too. I’m sure it depends a little on your generation how people see these decors.

Agreed! I was having a little fun also.
Airstream has done a pretty good job with their designs over the last few years. We love the European look of the Globetrotter and the international series. The choices we have for light or dark Corian may be limited but both have their fans as we all have different tastes.
The love shack is a little old place where
We can get together
Love shack baby
A love shack baby
Love shack, baby love shack
Love shack, baby love shack .

FWIW - we have Corian in the house, and I dwell with a "particular" sort of person who knows where every scratch manifests. In self defense, I learned how to polish. A good orbital sander, the right medium and a few beers later, all is well.

My experience:
I have white (actually cream/ivory color) Corian in my 99 Excella (built in 98). I'm looking at the countertops right now and I can see the reflection of the coffee pot in the surface while I'm setting on the sofa up front. Sure, there is surface wear and blemishes if you look closely, but the 20 year old white Corian still looks good.
I had a dark colored Corian counter tops that looked like stone, not pure black, on kitchen counter tops in one of my prior homes. That countertop showed swirl scratches almost immediately after we move in. Though, the countertop had a lot of windows above it. Lighting had a lot to do with what the surface looked like.

Black corian
We have the black corian, it shows everything, but you can polish most all of it out with compound and a buffer. They look good all the time with the cherry cabinets, but stunning when they are shined. We're used to it, so not a big deal, it's whatever you like

That looks great! We ordered out 2018 in August of 2017, our dealer said we couldn’t order the combo that way and it still took 4 months. We ended up with dark wood, dark seats, and light counter tops.

Our dealer told us the same thing when we ordered our 30'. Not sure why they didn't know you could get that combination.

it was actually the opposite for us. We were debating back and forth about the two options with Mocha wood, but we didn’t like the black counters or the brown couches much.
Our salesman was like, just order it with light counters and light couches.
We were both like “we can do that”.
Also, I think the individual dealers have their own reason why they personally won’t do it. I think it’s because if people order but don’t take delivery it may be harder to sell. Scottsdale has a dark/dark/dark special order in right now that has been there a little while. I’m guessing the standard color combos are the most popular because that’s how they are advertised.

We have black granite at home and much as we love the look when it is clean, it is seldom without blemishes of some nature. We also ordered our 2018 Classic with dark wood, light furniture, light countertops. It is not one of the 4 pallets offered, but it was no issue to custom order. It is great and the only minor issue with the light tops is that they hide stains almost too well...

I have the black with cherry cabinets and taupe ultra leather. Mine is a ‘’15. Yes, the black shows scratches. I like the look, though. I’ve also got the equipment and patience to buff the Corian every couple of years and they look like new. I’d much rather polish Corian than aluminum. We use our Airstream a lot, and it really shows little wear. If I wanted to keep it perfect I’d leave it locked up in its shed.

This is probably the most useful reply yet on the black Corian. Knowing that I can get it polished myself (or pay a professional) and have it looking great again is better than choosing a less desirable color (to us). Thank you!
Thanks also to everyone else who has provided their input so far. This is the best forum of any kind on the inter webs.

We have a 2018 Classic 33, we have the light tops, light cabinets and dark furniture. We love the look, however Airstream has dropped the ball when it comes to quality control. I would suggest to go over unit with a fine tooth comb prior to signing anything. Check fabric for any seams coming apart, cabinets are square, level, doors open and close properly. Lights turn off when doors are closed. Would be nice if you can check plumbing prior to signing as well. Test all appliances, jacks, awnings, most importantly make sure the door closes properly. Good luck.

Thanks for the tips. We will definitely be putting it through the paces before signing. We’ve been on dozens of trips in our Sport 22 over the last couple of years and it definitely had its initial issues (nothing major) when new. Lots more to test on the Classic though.

Hi Bab
What equipment and products do you use to polish the Corian?
