That's really strange that the Accessories is greyed out. You may need to contact Airstream if this is a 2019. I'm not sure about 2018 or earlier. I don't know whether they have the Flow or not, but the whole menu being greyed out is rather strange.

Give them a call. They haven't always had the answer for me when I've called, but they really try and they usually give me enough information that I can solve it on my own.

Glad I could help.

In the three weeks I was waiting to take delivery, I downloaded every manual I could get my hands on and read the cover to cover. My wife always makes fun of my propensity to relax by reading technical manuals.

great thread !!

I too think this is a great thread !! I have the same problem in my 2019 30' Classic that is being described. The factory and my dealer concluded I wasn't getting hot water in the shower due to a bad shower valve, but I am guessing I have the same problem everyone on this thread is describing -- that there is a box in accessories that isn't checked. I'll try that the next time I get the AS out of storage.

Please let us know IF you find the Alde Flow accessory on your screen. I had a 2019 30" Classic and do not had that accessory available.

Finally took the 2019 Classic out of storage and checked my accessory settings on the Alde system. Sure enough, I have the Alde Flow listed but the box was not checked. I therefore checked the box. Haven't tested to determine whether I have more hot water. However, attached are pictures of the other accessories that are listed and none of the boxes were checked. Does anyone know if I should check all of the other boxes too?

Mixer issue

2019 newly purchased Classic 30 had only warm water at shower. Sanitary water temp indicated at Alde panel 145+. Isolated problem to the mixer valve and made adjustments to the mixer to max hot water to hot service line. Adjustment resulted to no change still just warm. Discovered a shut off valve on the cold line just before the mixer and decided to try shutting off the cold water going into the mixer. Result- 130+ Hot water coming from the shower! The question is other than the need for care as we adjust the temp during a shower, what other issues will arise from shutting down the cold input to the mixer? Including a photo of the lines & mixer, viewed from galley side toward driver side.

Wait! How is it getting supply water with the cold shut off? Isn't that the only source of new water to the Alde?

The cold water line that feeds the mixer branches off the cold line going into the Alde boiler. Of course this is the plumbing in our 2019 Classic 30. Each build could have a different plumbing plan.

Alde Flow Box Leak

Thanks everyone for your posts here. We have a 2019 Airstream Classic 33'. Last Friday we noticed a trickle of water that appeared on the floor next to the dinette bench covering the Alde system. It is a very slow trickle. Things are tight under there, but I believe I was able to trace the water leak to the Alde Flow Box. We bled the system and we shut the water off and drained the hot water tank to restore the air cushion in hopes that it was a pressure issue. It wasn't and the leak continued after starting everything back up. Has anyone had this problem where the Flow Box (red with black end caps) begins to leak water? If so, do you have a solution short of taking it back to JC or a dealer?

Thanks,
Don Hale

Picture of Alde “Flow Box”

We have a picture but it doesn’t really show anything. It is difficult to see the water but it is coming from the box’s right hand corner (underneath). It is a small leak thank goodness, but it is constant and adds up. Any ideas you have is much appreciated.

Thanks for writing.

You guys have a different system than us I believe. We had a leak in ours but it went out the bottom of the trailer. It ended up being a check valve that took us a couple seconds to fix. Alde America support is great over the phone but if you guys are already going to JC then you will be taken care if there. Keep in touch!

Alde Flow Box

Update...After being in Jackson Center for the past week, the problem, as we thought, was a leak in the Alde Flow Box, the red box located on the back right hand side under the dinette bench seat closest to the door In the 2019 Airstream Classic 33’. The Flow Box was not secured to floor and likely took a few bounces before it began to leak. The Flow Box was replaced under warranty as well as all sleeves around the pipes. Best advice is for all with 3020 Alde systems to make sure your Flow Box is secured to floor.
