Question Alde 3010 upgrade

I have a 2018 33 FB Classic. With the Alde 3010 I have inadequate hot water supply for showering. Alde states I can install the Alde flow system to supplement mr 3010 system. Has anyone completed this upgrade or have any knowledge or advice?
Thanks!

You might already have the alde flow? Our 30 2018 did. You can check by removing the bench panels to give you access to the flow unit. Itís a red box the size of a small package right next to the main alde unit.

We can also go through trouble shooting steps if you want? We had our 3010 dialed in and performance was fine. Couldnít take a 20 minute shower but it took care of us for a couple of years before springing a leak.

We recently traded up to the 3020 unit. Itís incredibly similar but completely different in performance. That was an expensive option though and should be a last resort.

Thanks for the information. Mine does not have the flow as I think it was one of the earlier models. I'm glad to hear it fits in the space. Who did your upgrade?

Hey, I am having a problem on my Alde heat. The glycol pump works on the continuous mode but will not function on the Therm mode. I see in the Alde manual that the pump is activated by a panel room sensor. Any idea what and where this sensor is located? Thanks

My panel room sensor is above the sink mounted to the underside of the upper cabinet. Little black sensor that says alde on it. My panel was originally located under the sink, donít know if the sensor location was moved elsewhere when they started mounting on the wall.

I took delivery of my 2018 30 in November of 2017. For the first few months of the 2018 models, the control panel was under the sink because firefly took care of alde controls. They moved controls back to the multiplex wall shortly after hearing all the alde issues. Iím surprised that you donít have a flow if our early model had it.

We ended up upgrading directly with Truma/Alde. There was a satellite location in Florida that was very close for us and made it nice and easy.

you were right, I do have the Alde flow on my system. Unfortunately, Airstream is no help. They have no clue that it is equipped with the Flow. I've called Alde and they are not much better. I've asked for a dealer who is familiar with the system and haven't been able to find anyone. you mentioned trouble shooting steps. Where do I find this?

Trouble shooting is just through users on here if you have already gone through everything at a service center.

Usually people start with ensuring the valves are all set in the correct orientation, shower booster is being used, firefly is all updated to v3.8, circulation pumps (there are two) set to 2.

Let us know what you find.

Update

After many calls with Airstream, I found a reliable source. John! He seems to know much about everything. He was very patient and understanding of the issues and provided what I believe is good guidance on how I can maximize the hot water that the 3010 delivers. Owning and using a RV requires you to know about how they operate. When on the road, you have no choice than to learn how to fix problems so you can enjoy your journey!

Dealer and Truma think my pump is bad. Makes little sense to me since it will run on continuous mode, the pump only has a red power wire and a black ground. Since something has to tell it on or off, seems like a control board or bad Alde sensorÖÖÖ.

All of you who, unfortunately, bought an experimental Classic 33 with original Alde 3010 thru FireFly should hold your breath. My 2018 Classic 33 has been in repair for over 400 days with a bad circuit board. Airstream refuses to rectify because out of warranty. Alde/Truma tells my dealer that they donít make replacement boards for Alde 3010 anymore. For now we own a ďtop of the lineĒ Airstream that has no heat or hot water. Only fix may be to convert to Alde 3020 systemóóat our expense. Alde system has never worked properly since bought new in 2018.

I may be able to provide you with guidance as I have the experimental model like you. I have been able to get my unit operational however I have had to go around my dealership. They know less than most of the people on this forum. Please send me an email with your number and Iíll call. Much easier explain on phone.
