Alde 2-3 year service
I did search the forum to find an answer but no success
Where does everyone get their Alde flush service done?
I realize there are 3 options it seems
1) closest dealer
2) Truma FL, IN, AZ, TX
3) DYI
I priced the glycol and the DYI thread on building my own pump and then got a price from Truma and my dealer.
Truma and the Airstream dealers charge the same price for a 2 hour full ALDE service flush and replace as does the glycol purchased by itself and then the Y chromosome factor of thinking I can do this without fault on my own.
My deciding factors:
Truma is 5 hours away
Airstream dealer is 4 hours away
DYI no distance but the oh crap factor exists.
I obviously have no issues driving for proper service but I'd just like to see what the majority does.
Thanks!!

We haven’t had to do ours yet. 2018 classic here but there was a fluid recall and flush in 2020 or 2021. I’ll likely just take it to a service center personally.
That Alde fluid is liquid gold and knowing my luck, I’d knock over the 5 gallon drum and have to order another one AND be without heat until then

I am having the dealer do it for my 2020 (that may or may not have had the recall work done and new fluid installed) since it was in for warranty work anyway. My fear for DIY (I am naturally pessimistic/lazy) is that it seems there are about a dozen possibilities where valves are and they seemed to change the locations about every few months. I'm honestly unsure where all of them are on my 30'.

I have an 2018 33; originally was told the fluid had to be changed every 2 years. There was a recall for 2018 and some 2019s and they replaced the fluid and was told new fluid is good for 5 years. My LAs Vegas dealer did the fluid drain and flush— they never got the air out of the system and I had to do it myself. There is a thread on here for diy, pretty straight forward and will save a lot of money and aggravation with poor dealer support.

Would you mind if I ask what you paid for that service?

Cost of service
Around $450. Included system check (LP pressure, voltage).

Thanks we had it done at the same location last Tuesday morning and it was around $640. It didn’t take a hour.
When we had our boiler replaced their just over two years ago, they said it would be under $300. I knew it would probably be more but I did not imagine over double the price

I was under the impression that the flush was an every two year undertaking. We have a 2019 and the system was flushed two years ago. I spoke to the Truma folks (very helpful) who said as long as we bleed the air and keep the fluid at a sufficient level, it should be five years between flushes. Sounds good to me!

I had recently read about this five year schedule also. I asked them about this at the service and they said they still suggested every two years but could not give me a good reason why. I think the next service will be more along the five year schedule.
Also may look into buying the pump hose and bucket myself. Several years back it was mentioned here on Airform’s that everything except the fluid would cost you around 200 bucks if I remember correctly.
When they did the service, they never looked at the Aldi unit itself. They just flushed the system from the holding tank turned it on heated it up checked the fluid and that was that.

We had our Alde service done at the two year point, at Truma/Alde in Elkhart. A bit pricey, but we were on the way to Alaska. The glycol likely could have gone another year. Techs did not have any issues.
