2023 Classics Images & Information

I thought I would start a thread for those who received theirs to post info and images of their 2023 Classics as they receive them.

I have a 30 foot on order that should be delivered around November 1st. I am curious about the new cooktop and convection oven Airstream states they are updating on the 2023 models.

Hi

Purely as a point of reference: Airstream has put convection / microwave ovens in the Classic for a number of years. The way I read the announcement they are simply deleting the gas fired oven and putting drawers in that space. This has been a (poorly documented) option on the Classic, also for a number of years.

They have changed brands of microwave more than a couple times over the years. No idea what brand they might be going with "this time".

I was told this is the new stove top and convection oven combo when I called Airstream several months ago. They sent me this. I haven't seen one in person. We are awaiting a Classic 33 - which we had hoped would have a propane oven option (that's what we ordered). Airstream told me that Dometic has stopped making the ones they had been using so they went with this option from Contoure USA.

Hi

Same basic thing they have been doing for a number of years. It's a different model, but still the same "stuff" as the good old "no propane oven" undocumented option. Out take has been that as a microwave the gizmo works ok. As a convection oven ... not so much. No idea how an air fryer function would do ....

Well at 1700 watts trying to bake something for an hour should be fun while running on batteries only. It is going to be interesting to see how many people change these out for propane ovens.

We do use our current propane oven often. I will update this thread once we get ours and test it out. We do bring an electric air fryer oven with us on our longer trips, so cooking wise I think it will be fine when we are hooked up.

Hi

The gotcha is that propane based ovens are going out of production. There really is no "plan B" for AS. If they can't get the ovens from the normal sources, they can't put them in new trailers.

One of the issues I just discovered about our propane oven on our last trip; we were in the mountains at 8800 feet and it would only stay on for 10 minutes and then the flame would go out. Off to the dealership we went to drop it off and let them check it out. They called the manufacture and they said they only guarantee it to work between 4500 to 5500 feet based on several conditions like the outside temperature. Sine we go to the same place each year to escape the 100+ degree temperatures in Texas that is an issue for us going forward. Therefore, I think we will be happy going the electric route as we rarely do any boon-docking and if we do it is only for a one night and we can live without using the an oven then.

2023 classic

Hi all. Have been following this and similar threads to determine 2023 classic feature changes. Ours came in Friday and we were able to quickly look it over before make ready. First impressions as follows. New cooktop appears to be the contoure horizontal linear 3 burner. At first glance seems more user friendly as appears all burners could be used simultaneously (the back burner use of the dometic cooktop was hampered by the folding cover in our globetrotter.) Comes with the matching all electric oven/microwave. Visually looks good but does not have a cover and takes up more counter space…. We can confirm the Blu-ray players have been removed and replaced with a single hdmi input. We use our Blu-ray a lot so bought a replacement together with an hdmi switch for roku streaming. This unit came with the 40 lb propane tanks, not the 30 as is specified on the airstream site. Furnishings are a significant upgrade from our globetrotter 25ft. However the finer finishes imo not as sharp. Cabinet doors were not aligned correctly and not latching and the lav under counter sink not set quite true all which will be addressed in pdi. Will post more observations after our shake out trip.

Thank you for the update. Is it a 30 or 33 footer?

Okay, I received word today that mine will be in on 10/18. I am currently in Maine for the next 10 days and I won’t be home until 11/3. We may reroute our trip on the way home to pick it up if it is ready, which it should be if things go well. I will post pictures once I am in it. We plan on spending the night at the dealership in order to test everything out and get any problems fixed before we depart.

That should be 40 pound tanks! 40 gallon tanks would be nice though.

Took delivery of our 2023 Classic today. We spent the day at the dealership in full hookup mode. They fixed several minor issues we discovered. They even added a screw at the bottom of on of the windows that I felt needed it. So far I’ve been more than happy with their service today. We are spending the night here to fully use it before we depart tomorrow. Here is a quick picture I took of me sitting on the couch as we are getting things setup. I will post more pictures soon.

Congrats! We just switched from a twin (27 Flying Cloud) to a queen (30 classic) and while I do like to snuggle, I also miss the more useable space around the twin beds. Enjoy!

Very nice! Can you share what you paid? I just mentioned I had a chance for a new 30 Classic out of CA in 2020 for $115K- I see the new list price is $188K! Envious of your new baby!
