One thing that's not clear in our research, however, is whether the twin bed configuration has the powered head area on the beds. We know it's powered if you go Queen configuration, but am just not sure if that is the case with the twins. Not a deal breaker for this configuration, but still am just curious.

BTW, I really love this forum!

Thanks for any insight!
Jhess, we too had some doubts about buying a 30'Classic with the twin beds (and we're in our mid 60's) but it was the right decision for us. The extra storage and appearance we enough for us and we have worked out the separate bed problem.

That’s good to hear. Thank for the reply. I really haven’t found anyone, here or elsewhere, who has given a compelling reason (for me) to go with the queen in the 2017+ Classic units. To each his own, but for us this particular choice has been made.

Now as to the decor, that is proving to be a more difficult decision! We’re certain on the black countertops and light ultra leather, but are conflicted on the wood stain. Dark cherry stain is a bit like Bombay Company dark cherry, which is kinda too dark, but the lighter stain looks a little country or ordinary (if I dare say that about a Classic) but that is where we are kinda leaning right now.

We’re grateful to have these kinds of decisions to fret over. [emoji3]

We were originally going to get the black counter tops and light colored interior but ended up getting the light counter tops with dark leather and cherry wood. Our salesman told us that the black counter tops would show scratches easily and I knew that would drive the wife crazy. Both combinations are beautiful and the cherry wood is very classy.

@jhess dark counter look nice, but a couple things to be aware of. First, dust shows wickedly fast. It’s a lot of work to keep them dust free. Second, they are very prone to show scratches and swirled.

I have an older (1977) 30ft Excella 500 with the rear twin bed configuration. I built a shelf under the window and a framework across the twin beds to hold a queen size memory foam mattress. Changing sheets is a challenge, but we like to snuggle, lol.

Thchupp, you’ll need to modify the platform a bit under the mattress but buying the pneumatic struts shouldn’t be too hard to find. Next time I change the sheets I try to remember to look at mine and get the name and model for you. If I don’t get back to you soon please feel free to IM me to remind me.

Does anyone know who makes the twin mattresses in the newer 33 classic. I’d like to order 2 for my 30’ flying cloud.

Tuft and Needle makes them

https://www.tuftandneedle.com

P.s. I contacted them and they said they don’t sell them, and you’ll have to go through airstream.
