2018 classic 30
Picking up my new classic on friday and taking it straight to camp ground. Im at a horse show and plan on moving out of hotel into AS that night. Am i making a mistake by moving in so fast? Should i keep my hotel room in case there are problems? Im worried after reading all the posts about water problems, etc.

We also just purchased a new 2018 Classic and are scheduled to leave for a few months in a few days. Got to tell ya the stories about the water/heater system is a bit concerning. Make sure you have some extra Alde fluid (Moose Juice) and enjoy your new rig. Thinking about removing anti scalding valve in shower but haven't made up my mind yet since we haven't used the shower yet. GOOD LUCK!

Airhead2018, you don't have to actually remove the anti-scald valve. It's simple a setting using a set screw. All I did and others have done is back the screw off so it cannot engage. That way it's simply to screw it down and have the scald feature back on if in the future someone wants it, we do not.

Hi
My guess is that everything you run into will be in the "inconvenient" category and will not get into the "disaster" range. To me "door not latched on fridge in transit" is an inconvenient trip to the grocery store. Running out of ice after fixing martini's for half the group - that's a disaster
We've spent more time than we should have getting the Alde under control in our 2017. No excuse other than spending to much time having fun. At no point did it reach disaster proportions. If the shower water is cold-ish, shower at 2PM on a hot day

Thanks Paiceman! Still waiting on first usage before playing with it.

Thanks Uncle Bob, I think the best thing to do would be adopt your attitude!

Hi
One way to "cheat" the hot water situation:
Fill up the fresh water tank, even if you are on "shore water". Usually the underground supply of water is quite cold. Your fresh water tank will warm up in hot weather. Around mid to late afternoon, it should be noticeably warmer than the well water. Switch over to the fresh water tank, take your shower and then switch back ....

Here is the Kohler sheet on how to get to it. The large plate comes off, and it sits right there on the handle toward the top left side, simply back it off, not out, move the handle to make sure that there is no contact and does not stop the handle and you are ready to reinstall the face plate.
